Folkestone Bar Billiards

Here we go again for season 3 of The Folkestone Bar Billiards singles league.
A new competition has been added to the season.
Blind Pairs knockout where one player from division 1is drawn with one player from division 2. Added twist with alternative shots by the pair on the table.

Last of the old sheilds to be readied for a new life down here on the south coast.
The old 'Team Trophy' will be the new Champion of Champions Sheld whilst the 'Mixed Pairs' sheild is yet to be decided.

Here at Folkestone Bar Billiards , as part of trying to introduce new and old players back into the game, we have come up with this...

Blind doubles.
Random draw will see one player from division 1 drawn with one player from division 2.

And finally...

Following on from yesterday's divisional singles, we see Ken Hart beating Karl Field in our Alternative Rules competition.
The Last two photos see Gregg Davison winning Division 1 with Matt Saunders winning Division 2.

So today we held the Folkestone Bar Billiards singles competitions.
In Division 1, we saw Ben Riddle beat Malcolm Watson whilst in Division 2, we saw Lee Groombridge beat Michelle Jenkins.

Well done to all those who entered 👏 👏 👏

Well thats the end of season 2 of The Folkestone Singles League.
As you can see, a lot of games not played.
Having only one table and a lot of players, we left it up to the players to arrange their games but it didnt work out for a number of reasons. Next season will see a new format rolled out

It's been a bit of a slow start to our 2nd singles season with games being postponed due to events in the club over Christmas but here we go with the first league table update

Presentation of the trophies for the Folkestone Bar Billiard (singles) League.

The three main trophies were acquired from the Dover, Deal & District league after it folded.
These have now been engraved with our details but the original engraving is on the reverse so we can save a little bit of the league, and trophy history.

So next week we enter into our second season of bar billiards in Folkestone.
Last season saw 15 players battle across two divisions.
This new seasons see 21 players enter.
It's been a learning curve along the way so let's see how we go.
