Hello all, just a reminder that the Folkestone Parkrun is cancelled next Saturday (27th June) and will be back as normal the following week.
The cancellation is due to the Armed Forces Day event that will be happening on the same day which looks like a great day out for the whole family.

Following the seeming success of last week's 30 minute pacing by Mark, this coming Saturday the pacing will be progressing to 29 minutes as the pacing times work down the 20s week by week until 21 minutes.
For those that asked, we are looking at working through the 30s in autumn after this 20s progression this summer.

Hi all, just a reminder that there will be a 30 minute pacer out on the course this Saturday for anyone that is looking to break the half an hour barrier.
The pacer will be working things down a minute each week until somewhere in the low 20s so look out for the posts in the week leading up to an event for the forthcoming pacer time.

We received a very nice email yesterday from Sarah-Jane Winding of Cancer Research UK. She sends thanks to all of you parkrunners who volunteered at Sunday morning's Folkestone Race For Life, making it possible for them to cover all marshalling positions and ensure that the event could go ahead safely.

FOLKESTONE RACE FOR LIFE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR SUNDAY ON THE LEAS
Good afternoon all,
I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out as I am in desperate need of volunteers to marshal at Cancer Research UK’s Folkestone Race for Life this Sunday 7th June! I have attached the email I sent out to those already signed up 4 weeks ago, but they are dropping like flies sadly. We see a 50% drop out rate of volunteers on event day and as it stands, I wont be able to cover the positions I need even if by miracle everyone attended.
Please could you help me spread the word! We have 1,000 amazing participants signed up all raising money for vital research and I would like to give them the support they deserve.
All details in email attached but in short, it’s a 9:15am arrival time to sign in and receive briefing. 10:30am race start time! 3k, 5k, 10k distances all setting off at same time. Drinks and snacks provided and lots of fun promised!
Meet along The Leas in front The Grand – CT20 2XL. More than happy for people to email me direct or just turn up on the morning and we can register them then.
THANK YOU!!
