⛵️ Another week with a hive of activity down at the club 🚣

▶️ We’ve had a fantastic variety of action out on the water, from sunrise to sunset.

▶️ Our rowers have been making the most of these crisp mornings, getting out for peaceful sunrise rows that offer views too good not to share. What a way to start the day. 🌅

▶️ The weekend saw the Aberdeen University Sailing Club out on the water sailing alongside our regular club sailors ⛵️

▶️ Whether it's the quiet glide of a skiff or the thrill of wind in a sail, there's been something for everyone. It’s always wonderful seeing the loch alive with water sport activity. 😀🚣⛵️

🕺💃 What a brilliant night at our annual Bluebell Sailing Regatta ceilidh on Saturday evening! ⛵️🎻

👉 This event is a fun tradition every year for us at FSWC, Huge thanks to everyone who joined us in Northmuir hall for an incredible evening. We had fantastic food laid out on the buffet—including plenty of delicious curries, chilli’s, warm bread, and veggie options and that’s before we consider the huge range of incredible desserts 😋 to keep everyone fuelled after a very energetic day on the water!—along with plenty of drinks flowing at the tables to keep hydrated 🥂🍷🍺

👉 A special shoutout to Gordon Reid on the accordion and his team for keeping the energy high on stage and getting dancers of all ages up on the floor for strip the willow and circle dances!
Thank you to everyone who cooked, helped set up, and made it the great night it always is!.

⛵️FANTASTIC WEEKEND FOR THE 2026 BLUEBELL REGATTA! ⛵️

▶️ We had an incredible weekend on Forfar Loch for our annual Bluebell Regatta! It was wonderful to see so many sailors out on the water.
The weather certainly kept things interesting, presenting a different challenge each day! 🌪 On Saturday, competitors faced lots of fierce wind, making for some exciting and fast-paced racing (and a few unexpected dips!) 😁

▶️🌧Sunday was a completely different story, with heavy rain testing everyone's endurance. A massive well done to all the sailors who braved the elements and showed great spirit over the two days.

▶️ A huge congratulations to all our prize winners! 🏆 Your hard work and skill across these tricky conditions were well-deserved.
A big thank you to all the volunteers, safety boat crews, and organizers who make the event possible.

▶️ Thanks to all involved who travel from far and wide. As always, we can't wait to see you all next year!

Only in Scotland can you experience four seasons in an hour! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😮

We started our morning with the most stunning, peaceful sunrise row. The water on the loch was like glass (kind off 😁), the sky was a beautiful clear orange, and it was the perfect start to a fitness session. 🌅🚣‍♀️

Fast forward less than 60 minutes, and the weather completely turned on us! The bright sun was replaced by heavy, grey clouds, and the rain started coming down. Typical loch conditions, keeping us on our toes! 🌧️😅

From perfect stillness to soggy oars in no time, but we still got the workout in. Time for a well-deserved warm coffee! ☕️

⛵️⛵️ SAILORS BRING THE SAILS, SKIFFIE’S BRING THE ENGINE! 🚣🚣 😉

When the wind quits, the skiffies step up! 🚣‍♂️🤝⛵

The forecast decided to do the complete opposite with the wind deciding to completely ghost our sailing section on Sunday afternoon, it turned out to be a match made on the water. The sailboat provided the luxury seating, but the Skiff provided the 4-person human outboard engine!

Who says sailors and rowers can't work in tandem? One holds the tiller, four do 100% of the sweating, and everyone gets back to shore in time for a coffee! ☕️😀..We like to think of it as the ultimate hybrid craft: zero emissions, powered entirely by muscle, teamwork, and a fair bit of friendly banter.
