As I understand it, the bid to host the Tour in Edinburgh (which lost to Yorkshire) was supported by £10m of public funding. Edinburgh back in the news yesterday suggesting they will apply again ...and will again be seeking support from NATIONAL agencies to do so http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/28174941. If Scotland is bidding again, I suggest that Loch Ness, the Cairngorms, Balmoral, Speyside etc. would be a great global advert for Scotland. Is Scotland's appeal as a cycling destintation in the Central Belt? Just saying!
