Round 6 of the winter league will be held on Sunday (24th March) at Ariundle Oakwoods near Strontian. Kids and adult races, Sign on 9.30 for kids 10.30 for adults with races starting at 10 and 11 am respectively, free to members £5 non members

Children’s race will consist of the the start/finish straight and one lap totalling 4 km. This is an ideal course for young riders as navigation is easy, the trails relatively smooth and the number of features quite low but varied in their degree of challenge. All features are pretty obvious and walkable should they choose to.

Adults will race on the same course for one hour. It is anticipated that the fastest riders will complete 5 laps while mortals will most likely do between 2 & 5 laps. If you catch up or are about to lap a rider, please call out which side you will pass them on so they have time to move over for you. We hope to see as many club members attending as possible, especially children, as this is an ideal event for them.

Directions:

Ariundle Oakwoods is just outside the village of Strontian and easy to find. Drive through the village staying on the main road and, immediately after crossing a stone bridge over the Strontian River, turn right and follow signs to Ariundle Oakwoods. The next junction is also signposted ‘Ariundle’ and this leads straight into the FLS car park.

There is public parking (FLS charge £1/hr or £3/day - pay by RingGo app) at the Ariundle Oakwoods and a cafe (Ariundle Centre) a short distance away (or one in the village (Cafe Sunart).

The start line is 180 meters from the car park, but there are no toilets available onsite. The nearest public ones are in the village behind the Keystore/shop.

Call for helpers/ Marshals:

Karl needs some marshals in order for the race to be able to run so if you are able to help out please get in touch or make yourself known on the day
