We brought the curtain down on the outdoor season today, closing the green with our annual triples competition. Over 30 players and several spectators made for a most enjoyable day all round. The group stages went down to the very last bowl and produced some excellent bowls. The final saw the rotating four of Peter Thomson, Gordon Whyte, Margaret Watt and Steven Ritchie take on Gary Mcrobb, Shirley Whyte and Dave Spittal. It was the latter three who triumphed in a six end final. Shirley locking it down with a blinder of a last end. Well done to Dave, Gary and Shirley. As our playing season now draws to a conclusion, we thank our sponsors, helpers and all who contributed to or visited the club this season. For those playing indoor, we wish you all a successful season. Our next event is our quiz and we hope to see as many of you there as possible.

The club was delighted to host our various sponsors yesterday for our annual sponsors tournament. We can only reiterate our thanks to all our fantastic sponsors for their contributions. It is greatly appreciated and we hope everyone enjoyed their day yesterday. Played in a convivial but definitely competitive atmosphere, there was nothing to separate several teams at the end of the group stage. It came down to a 1 bowl shoot out to determine the finalists. Strichen Lodge and Stephen Duncan Heating and Plumbing made it to the final. In the end it was Stephen, John, Michael and Alistair who claimed the victory. Well done all and hopefully see you all again next year!

Last Saturday we had a great afternoon playing in the 2nd Ian Thomson Memorial Pairs with a fantastic turnout of club members, family and friends who all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Another special day for a special man who dedicated so much time for the club.

Date for Diaries

This Saturday sees us host our Sponsors Open Competition. The trash talking began weeks ago and all sorts of side rivalry plots are taking shape! Who will claim the bragging rights and who will be left nursing a bruised ego!? Anyone not playing is more than welcome to come along and enjoy what is normally a fun and sociable afternoon. For those who are playing, please see below for the group draws and order of play. If everyone could aim to be there by 1.45pm please and we will get started at 2pm sharp. Once again, we thank all of our amazing sponsors for their ongoing support of the club ❤️

The club championship reached its conclusion tonight. Guaranteed a new name on the trophy and both players having played well en route to the final, they would have both been fancying their chances. After losing a 2 in the first end, Phil then raced ahead and thereafter Keith never quite managed to replicate the form of previous rounds. Phil kept piling them in on the draw and never relented. Two deserving finalists who have both played very well this season. Unlucky to Keith Duthie and congratulations go to this year's champion Phil Anderson.

Tonight saw the culmination of our new handicap singles competition. A back and forth final kept the spectators entertained. The players were well matched in handicap (a difference of 1) and so it proved on the green, finishing 21-18. Unlucky to Marc Thomson and congratulations to Gordon Watt.
