Fraserburgh Hillwalking Club

FHC AGM will take place on Wednesday 29th March at 7.30pm in the Royal British Legion,School Street, Fraserburgh. All members and potential new members welcome to attend.

We have just reinstated our page after being dormant for a few years . Hopefully better weather is on the way and we will see a few hillwalking pictures from our members in the next few months :-)

At Kintail Outdoir Centre

FHC members enjoyed a great weekend away staying at the Corran Ferry Bunkhouse . A group of 5 climbed Sgorr na Ciche ( Pap of Glencoe ) whist Alex and Margaret went over on the ferry for walks in Ardgour. A special mention to Michael though for his first ascent of Ben Nevis. Also a big thank you to Alan and Halina for all their help and being the perfect hosts making for a great time had by all including the entertainment provided by Johnny on the guitar.

As some of you are aware the Corran Outdoors Bunkhouse are asking us to participate in a customer survey ( see attached letter ) . They want to know about our experience of the bunkhouse and would also like photos, particularly photos with the bunkhouse in the background. If you have any interesting tales to tell or photos you can pass them on to myself to forward or send them direct to the Bunkhouse. I'm sure at least some of our stories involving the Bunkhouse would be ok to publish ! 😅

FHC meeting tonight in the Royal British Legion, School Street, Fraserburgh at 7.30pm Hope those heading for Corran Ferry this weekend get yesterdays weather and not todays! :-)

FHC took advantage of a break in the rain on Saturday to do a variety of walks from their weekend break at Bearnock Country Centre . Hills ckimbed included the munros Tom a'Chonnich and Toll Creagach , the Corbett Sgurr na Diollaid , the Graham Beinn a'Mheadhoin along with walks around Loch Affric and Loch Meiklie and also visits to Dog Falls and the spectacular Plodda Falls. A great weekend was had by all rounded off by entertainment from Johnny on the guitar. We look forward to the next trip to Crianlarich 😊
