Not everyone’s dream looks the same.
After my relationship ended, I was forced into a lot of soul-searching.
One of the biggest things that changed…
Was my definition of success.
Most people dream of a mortgage, a nice car and the picture-perfect life.
And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
But I’ve always been drawn to something different.
Adventure.
I’ve always dreamt about treehouses, shipping container homes and tiny houses.
So instead of waiting for “one day”, I thought…
F**k it.
I’m going to build a life that feels right to me.
So I bought a battered 2004 motorhome.
It had no real electrics, it wasn’t much of a home, and the inside needed completely rebuilding.
Over the last eight months, while I’ve been rebuilding myself…
I’ve rebuilt the van too.
It’s still a work in progress.
There’s always something to fix.
Water tanks to fill.
Toilets to empty.
Something to repair.
But strangely…
It’s been one of the most grounding experiences of my life.
It’s taught me to appreciate less.
To slow down.
To stop chasing what everyone else says success should look like.
And to build a life that actually fits me.
So what does success look like now?
Less stuff.
More freedom.
Less stress.
More adventure.
I’m still healing.
The van is still unfinished.
But for the first time in a long time…
It feels like home.
Don’t build someone else’s dream.
Build your own. ❤️
