The Mells Mash-Up (previously the Mells Scenic 7/Mells Scenic race) is back for 2026 and is Race #1 of the Wiltshire Off-Road Race League!
This years event is still around 7 miles, and will follow the same route as the 2025 race (going along part of the cycle path from Great Elm to Mells, rather than going over Barrow Hill), it is a beautiful route with just a few hills! The race will take place on Sun 20 Sep 2026.
The route will be a mixture of footpath/bridleway, cycle path and quiet country lanes. The race starts and finishes in the historic village of Mells, near Frome. The course will be marked and marshalled.
The race will start at 1100 from the Mells Cricket Club (parking will be available at the cricket club and around the village of Mells, more details will be provided in the final email). The Cricket Club entrance can be found off Longfield, Mells, BA11 3PZ. Toilets will be available and there is an area where bags can be left at runners own risk. Race numbers will be issued on the day from 0930 and there will be a race briefing at 1045. After the race, tea and cakes will be on sale (cards or cash taken). Each runner who finishes the race will recieve a small memento.
Due to short on-road sections and narrow paths in places, dogs are not allowed.
Headphones can be worn, but runners are to be aware of traffic on the small road sections and must be able to hear instructions from the marshalls.
Entrants must be 18 years of age on the day of the race.
Please note this course can be slippery and muddy in places.
