WEEK 5 HYROX TRAINING ✅
Week 5 complete and this one had a few more moving parts than usual!
A little disruption to our normal training together as my HYROX partner was busy casually climbing Ben Nevis 😂⛰️ An awesome achievement and definitely a reasonable excuse for missing a session!
I still managed to get all of my sessions in and I’m pleased with how consistent the training is becoming. Five weeks in, the movements feel more natural and I’m starting to understand my pacing much better.
Recovery threw me a little curveball this week. I had an amazing Thai massage, but afterwards my hip felt irritated. I’ve since been able to run and it’s felt good, which is reassuring, but I’m going to get it properly assessed/scanned to understand what’s going on rather than guessing.
And amongst all of that…
I turned 39! 🎂
Another milestone and genuinely a blessing. Getting older certainly makes you appreciate being able to train, challenge yourself and have things like this to work towards. The aim isn’t just to get through HYROX it’s to keep doing this stuff for a very long time.

And we’re still raising money for Impact Mental Health 💚
The training is the challenge, but there’s a much bigger reason behind doing it.
