🐍 VIPERS TAKE THE WIN | TEESSIDE LIONS D2 34–57 CLS VIPERS 🏀
A fantastic performance from CLS Vipers Seniors tonight as the lads produced a strong four-quarter display to come away with a convincing 57–34 victory over Teesside Lions D2.
Vipers set the tone immediately.
The defence was switched on from the opening possession, with the intensity and teamwork making it difficult for Teesside to find any rhythm. The Lions were held to just 2 points in the entire opening quarter, while Vipers steadily built their advantage to finish the first 11–2 ahead.
The game really opened up during the second quarter.
Vipers started finding their rhythm offensively, moving the ball well, creating opportunities for each other and extending the lead. By half-time we'd put 32 points on the board and established a commanding 32–17 advantage.
Teesside came out fighting after the break and managed to cut into the lead, but Vipers responded well. The lads weathered the pressure, continued working together at both ends of the floor and took a 44–29 lead into the fourth quarter.
Then it was time to finish the job.
Another excellent defensive quarter restricted Teesside to only 5 points, while Vipers added another 13 to close out an impressive 57–34 victory.

Tommy Thompson led the Vipers in points with 22, while new signing Lee Davie led the team in assists, helping create opportunities for those around him.
But this performance was about much more than individual statistics.
Holding Teesside to 34 points, including just 2 in the opening quarter and 5 in the fourth, demonstrated the defensive intensity, communication and work rate shown by the entire group.
The new additions of Lee Davie, Jay Carter and Kurt Flancia also made a difference as they continue to settle into the Vipers squad.

> “I’m really pleased with the teamwork and intensity the lads brought tonight. From the opening quarter we played for each other, worked hard defensively and kept that intensity going throughout the game.
The addition of our new signings Lee Davie, Jay Carter and Kurt Flancia has made a real difference to the group. They’ve fitted in brilliantly and added something extra to what we already had.
Lee led us in assists tonight and Tommy led the scoring with 22 points, but for me this was a complete team performance. Everyone contributed, whether that was scoring, creating opportunities, defending, communicating or doing the hard work that doesn't always show up on the stats.
There’s still plenty for us to work on, but tonight showed what this group can do when we play together and bring that level of intensity.
