Rutherford Ladies Rutherford Ladies is part of the great club Rutherford AFC. We were the first women's football team to be formed in the borough of Gateshead back in 2002.

We operate today with multiple teams from our 1st team to reserves & recreational football.

It’ll be a tough game against a side with plenty of experience of playing in the division above us who have started their season strong taking 3 points from a very good Stockton side!

First 3 points earned on the road to Leam Rangers Football Club ladies for our first team!

Some superb goals scored, a few stand out individual performance and spells of quality football by the team. Great to see so many goals scored by different goal scorers 👏

Huge shout out to today’s player of the match who is proudly sponsored by Coach & Horses, Wideopen! Sharpy was fantastic both defensively and offensively, assisting two goals, being a rock at the back and working her socks off for the entire 90 minutes! 👏

Today saw our reserves travel away to Morpeth Town Women AFC looking for a bounce back from Thursdays set back but today just wasn’t our day again.

A couple of mistakes and wrong decisions being the main difference but the team never gave up! A game against a well organised and attacking team like Morpeth is always a hard game, but the team take the lessons and put their full focus onto the cup game 🏆next week!

Our reserves first game of the season saw them travel away to a strong Cramlington United side.

The game started competitively up until the half time break but unfortunately a few errors in front of goal saw the scoreline widen during the second. The girls created a few chances during the game but Cramlington defended extremely well to keep their clean sheet.

Despite the scoreline which felt harsh based on the girls efforts and spells of great football they showed, the team kept going until the final whistle.

The team take it as a learning curve, figuring out what this new league is about and move onto Sunday where they will face another very strong opposition team! Well done lasses 👏 ❤️🖤
