Farrier Report: GluShu for laminitis.

Laminitis is a severe condition that impacts countless horses, leading to pain, discomfort, and sometimes long-term damage. It is critical for horse owners to be aware of effective solutions. The dedicated team at Huf-Reha Team has shown impressive results in treating laminitis using products like Glushu. Their comprehensive approach sets a valuable example for equine care. “We've found that hooves that repeatedly become flattened (which is associated with extreme sensitivity) can be straightened up nicely with GluShu and supportive pads.

In this vein, this mare received a GluShu glue on horseshoes with Aurethane padding from Glue-U.

We took her in as a laminitis horse, first with a removable plate and padding, then glued as below. Of course, her posture had changed, and with such extreme laminitis, it's advisable to wait at least 8 months before deliberately subjecting the hoof to work again.

I am pleased to say they are now able to go riding without worry!”

In this case we applied Glushu's with the modification of sapas shoes. The modification are always hard also because the coffin bone in the foot is disformed. The Horse started to respond well and is much more comfortable in Glushu.

Taking care of our equine companions is a fundamental part of horse ownership. A recent success story from 4G Farrier Service LLC illustrates this well, highlighting the impressive results achieved with Glushu glue-on shoes for a horse with a significant hoof growth issue. This case provides hope and strategies for horse owners facing similar challenges.

The star of this story is a thirteen-year-old horse under the care of 4G Farrier Services. Since they began working with her, this horse has faced persistent issues with short hooves, making routine hoof care a challenge. Her feet were consistently so worn down that traditional nail-on shoes were no longer an option. This situation left the horse uncomfortable and at risk, prompting 4G Farrier to explore alternatives.

"This is a regular client of mine. She is about 13 years old. Her feet have been really short since I have known her. It is so problematic that she has had her fronts worn down too far to even get totally flat for nail on shoes.

This horse just doesn't grow a foot. We tried these GluShu shoes to give her a extra comfort and traction. The owner kept an eye on them and scheduled me to come back out at 17 weeks. The horse did spend a fair amount of time in a stall but also was ridden and cart driven on the blacktop.

While most horses shouldn't go 17 weeks between shoeing this one needed the time and there was still minimal foot to trim.
