Sunday saw our annual Presidents Day match, with a Presidents Invitational XI taking on the village in a 30 over match.
The result didn't matter; this was father's playing with sons, young and old, and the village coming together to enjoy the cricket, weather and social occasion. In every respect cricket was the winner.
The day was capped with a fantastic BBQ courtesy of the club, a beer tent (well, the President is a head brewer 🥰) and some live music from our own Rich Atkinson (check out Rich Atkinson & The New Billionaires 👌🏻)
A special presentation during the tea interval was made to Chris Rabbetts who (finally!) retired as groundsman. Chris took over a cabbage patch and has worked tirelessly over the years to provide us with a square and outfield to be proud of. Thank you Chris
A final thanks to everyone who came along, helped out and kindly donated to the club. Very much appreciated

Cricket returns to Butts Lane in May with the start of the 2026 season.

The village will be playing the following home matches at the recreation ground in May

Sunday 17/05 v Wriggle Valley 13:30 start
Thursday 21/05 v Ibberton T20 18:00 start
Sunday 24/05 v Cheyney School. Staff 13:00

Residents and locals are invited to come along, watch some cricket, support the village and enjoy the good weather (hopefully!).

The pavilion facilities are available for all to use, although we recommend bringing your own camping or deck chairs. You might even get a cuppa during the tea interval!
