🏋️‍♂️ Priorities and Sacrifices!

Is your health and fitness journey a priority for you right now?

If you are thinking about it or ready to embark on any health and fitness journey, you’re going to have to make it a priority because unfortunately it doesn’t come easy and it won’t just magically happen!

You might need to re-jig some things to make it fit into your life, you may need to make some sacrifices here and there, you might need to ask for some help and you most certainly will need to step out your comfort zone and put some effort in!

🤔 Ever wonder why some people seem to “effortlessly” achieve their health and fitness goals while others struggle? It all comes down to priorities!

They’ve prioritised their goals and where they want to be and they keep this in the forefront of their mind at all times!

They don’t give into every impulse, they don’t let their mood dictate whether or not they get a box ticked and they’ve made sacrifices to make sure they are able to prioritise their health and fitness!

So in reality, it’s not effortless at all!

You only see one tiny glimpse of the whole picture that often involves daily struggles, difficult decisions and hard work!

Sacrifices are a part of the journey towards anything worth having! You’re not going to pass that exam or get that promotion without turning up and putting the hard work in and the same goes for reaching your health and fitness goals!

This isn’t a post to put you off making your health and fitness a priority, in fact it’s the opposite!

We encourage you to make your health and fitness a priority!

We want you to be able to reach the goals you have and live a life, fit and able to do so much more than you ever thought you were capable of 💪🏼

We just want you to come at it knowing full well that it’s not that highlight reel and “effortless” journey that you might see from a far!

It’s hard work, dedication, sacrifice and it will need to move up your priority list in order for it to work!

Just remember that the payoff is worth 100x any sacrifices and hard days you’ll need to get through!

These are the things you often don’t see people doing!

The basics, the secrets behind their results 😉

You ask yourself “why are they getting results and I’m not, I’m in the gym the same amount as them!”

Start doing the the basics people don’t see and you’ll be successful with your results!

Make these 5 points a consistent part of your routine!

Before you start focusing on what supplements to take, what straps to buy or meal timings you need to focus on the basics!

You’ll see more results consistently nailing the basics than you ever will if you have the prettiest lifting straps in the gym but don’t drink enough water or have a schedule where you make time to train!

Nail the basics, focus on what people don’t see and build from there!

(We haven’t included sleep as part of this even though it is important 😉 Sleep needs it’s own post 😴🤗)

Starting or re-starting anything new can be daunting, especially a gym routine 😵‍💫

It can be overwhelming, but you can make it easier to succeed and start seeing the results you’ve been looking for by doing a few simple things!

- Prepare for your session!
- Follow a plan!
- Train with a partner or team!
- If you are training alone, don’t forget your headphones!

Make things easier for yourself, take control and ownership of your goals and make sure you succeed ⚡️

Something we heard someone say recently, “live whilst the living is easy” and it really hit home!

We spend so much time waiting!

Waiting for that perfect moment, waiting until we’re rich enough, waiting until we’re happy enough, waiting until we have that perfect body! Waiting to live our lives!

As PT’s the biggest barrier to starting we hear is “I’ll just wait until I’m fitter or in better shape to start!”

But if you look back, how long have you been waiting? How long are you going to keep waiting? And without action, what are you waiting for?

You’ll wake up one day, look back and wish you hadn’t put off what you wanted to achieve! Wish you’d done what you wanted to do sooner or whilst you still could! You’ll most likely look back with regret!

So, if you’ve got something you want to do but have been putting it off because you are just waiting for that “perfect moment”, we’re here to let you know that perfect moment will never arrive whilst you are waiting!

You need to create that moment by taking action and waiting is the opposite of taking action!

Let today be the day you start taking action! The day you can look back on, not with regret but with happy memories and a sense of pride that you took action to live your life to the fullest instead of waiting your life away!

Are you exercising or training?

Heading into the gym and picking out a few random exercises you feel like doing that day with no purpose or goal is exercising!

Following a clear, structured and goal related program is training!

Both can be beneficial but you need to have an understanding of which one you are doing and why!

Exercise is great it you are solely looking to move more and look after your general health but it’s randomness doesn’t allow you to work towards a specific goal!

So, if you have a goal, whether it be weight loss, muscle growth, fitness, strength, aesthetic etc etc then you need to be following a progressive and structured training plan that is programmed with intention!

Work out if you have a desired outcome or goal you are wanting to work towards and if you do make sure you are training and not just randomly exercising to get there!

Remember, just because a workout felt hard and got you sweaty doesn’t mean it was necessarily a “good” workout that inched you closer to your goals! To get to your goals the workout needs to be intentionally programmed and thought out!
