Fantastic to see that Sunny Cycles have thrived after the situation the people were in. To raise concerns about the charity to the regulator, then for the charity regulator to not do anything about it, even though they found that "directors were not fulfilling their duties as directors", is a disgrace. Concerns were raised for good reason, and not just by one group of people but by many. The charity regulator allowing bad governance and lack of health and safety to continue is just not right. Are they waiting for a serious accident to happen before they will take any action??

Many groups and families now do not use the cycling centre and it lies unused. The White House in Maryhill lies empty and unused. Both of these facilities should be removed from the current lease holder and be given to community groups who can make them the thriving community hub they can and should be.

Please do ask your councillors, MPs and MSPs what they are doing about this situation.

One year on from being made redundant, the staff and volunteers who were cast aside, have brought a new charity to life and are working with many other partners to ensure cycling opportunities for all.

OSCR have published their report into Free Wheel North and have found that there is wrong doing in the charity and that directors are not fulfilling their duties as a director. But rather than hold anyone to account, they are not going to do anything.

The only message this sends is that people don't need to follow any rules when you run a charity, just do as you please.

OSCR | Inquiry Report: Free Wheel North The Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) has today (Thursday 15 June 2023) published an inquiry report into concerns raised about the charity Free Wheel North (SC039789).

After over a year of concerns being raised about Free Wheel North, and concerns still being raised in recent weeks, OSCR finally published their report last week. And they have decided that although they found wrong doing within the charity, they are not going to take action, they are going to just brush it under the carpet. Here is the SOCC campaign response to that report.

Free Wheel North no longer care about there bikes and volunteers.... After sacking all dedicated volunteers a few months ago the fantastic cycling facility at Glasgow Green has went right down hill. One volunteer most days who does not have proper training by the looks of it. As you can see by this photo bikes are left out like this most days.

Photo was taken around 8pm last night well after the centre closed.

We would love to know if they properly check out bikes for damages and if any bikes have been stolen....

There has also been reports of kids / adults using accessibility bikes inappropriately etc and these are not.toys for kids to play with and cost lots of money.

Apparently these special bikes are now known as novelty and left abandoned etc around the track daily.

The community in Maryhill is being told that the former staff at Free Wheel North on green who are just wanting to cause trouble, but we all know different.

The White House has had hundreds of thousands of pounds spent on it and it is now only open for 4hours per week. It has so much potential, and should be put to use by a community group who can get it to its full potential.

Where has all the money gone?

Who is paying the rent on the White House now?

Are funds from Glasgow Green being used to pay to keep the White House going?

Who is this person with the worrying name of Sue E Side?? And what is the disturbing 'art' they have?
