ReKalibrate your life with exercise πŸ’₯

Exercise is for EVERYONE.

Everyone has a different level of ability, whether that's based in knowledge or physical ability, no one is the same. No 2 persons needs, wants, goals or challenges are the same.

I take an exercise class at Newton House Care Home on a Thursday. This class is chair based being accessible to wheelchair users and is centred around moving their joints around to retain as much movement as possible.

You will have challenges, needs, wants, obstacles and goals, each of them unique to you. You can get healthier, fitter and stronger with an exercise program created and tailored to you.

If you're interested in overcoming your obstacles and beating your challenges, get in touch.πŸ’₯

Exercise is for EVERYONE. Old, young, big, small, able or unable, exercise can and will make a positive impact.

I work at Newton House Care Home on a Thursday taking an exercise class for their residents. The type of exercise is centered around moving their joints with the aim or retaining as much movement and ability as they can.

It's certainly different from working in a gym, but like I said, exercise is for EVERYONE πŸ’₯

"The best classes I've been to"- someone, probably πŸ‘€πŸ’₯
"Hard work and good fun, that's why I come back every week"- the regulars πŸ’ͺ

One part of my job, is taking fitness classes- I revel in it, I love leading group exercise! No wait times and over in 30-45 mins, I like to make every second count, giving you the most in that timeframe ⌚

I take multiple different types of class throughout the week, let's take a look and see if any of them grab your attention πŸ‘€

Cycle- PureGym's, version of a spin class. Riding a stationary bike through a variety of movements to the beat of music. YOU WILL SWEAT. Cycle is as challenging as you make it, with each bike being individually adjustable. If you want a cardio based class, you won't find better than cycle at PureGym!🚲

Sweat & strength- 30 or 45 min circuit classes based in the functional area, using a vast variety of equipment. Sweat and strength offer a similar yet very different experience, why not try both?πŸ’ͺ

Legs, bums and tums & bodytone- circuit style classes based in the studio, using minimal equipment. A good entry point for those wanting to start group exercise.

Get started- an introduction and walk through of the gym, the best opportunity to get your questions about the gym asked!

You may or may not care about group exercise. You might not care about classes, that's fine. Fitness is personal and should always be tailored to you and your goals.

Why'd don't you try it, what's the worst that'll happen? You have a workout you didn't enjoy- you still exercised, and you know you don't like it- still a big win πŸŽ‰

I'll see you at the next class πŸ‘Š

My client Mhairi sent me this today and I was so overcome with joy that I had to share it! ❀️

I've been working with Mhairi for a little over a year now, and of course we've faced many obstacles in that time.

Mhairi lives with a condition named AMRF and is a wheelchair user, if you'd like to find out more about her, her journey or her condition- follow and her 3rd story highlight is her take over for Rare Diseases UK!

This picture highlights just how important the work we've been doing is. Her training within the gym is overlapping into real world situations!! In the last year we've practiced transferring in and out of the wheelchair onto numerous different pieces of equipment- boxes, bikes, leg presses, benches and machines.

This is a testament to her tenacity and unwillingness to be defeatedπŸ‘Š Her hard work and attitude is unrivalled, always challenging herself to try new things or do more!

It's been a privilege to be a part of her journey and I can't wait to see how much further she goesπŸ™

What I'd like you to take from this- how you train will directly impact how you live, whether that's for health, fitness, strength, aesthetics or mobility/ability.

Train for how you live and for how you WANT to live. Training can improve all areas of your life.

Sincerely, one very proud coach ❀️

πŸ’₯TOUGH MUDDERπŸ’₯

What an incredible day.
I've wanted to do tough mudder for years now, but never managed to get a group to go- so f**k it, I'll do it myself πŸ‘Š

15km turned out to be 17.5km plus the extra mile meant that the race was 19.1km with 32 obstacles! The longest distance run I've done yet.

I went in blind without any specific training, to challenge myself to the max. It was everything I hoped for, exhausting and exhilarating πŸ”₯

The most important thing I learned from this is how important it is to challenge yourself and push your limits to the max. Being uncomfortable is where the magic happens, it's where you grow!✨

My next challenge (currently) is Hyrox in October, unless I think of something before thenπŸ˜… but my next big challenge- I'm going to run a marathon next year 🀞

Don't be afraid to push yourself to your limits, you'll be amazed at what you're capable of ❀️

Definitely doing again, it was an amazing day- I challenge all of you to give it a go πŸ’ͺ

(Yes, I will be wearing my headband. No, I will not apologize for it πŸ˜‚)

MY MENTAL HEALTH JOURNEY (so far)🧠

In honour of Mental health awareness week and month, I've decided to share my story.

This is a long read, with potentially sensitive topics. It's not made for sympathy or attention, if anything it'll hopefully open some eyes towards the importance of mental health.

Being so open and vulnerable is not an easy thing to do, especially on a topic this personal- literally what's went on in my head.

I've always been open about my health, I've embraced it and accepted that my mental health and my bipolar are a part of me. I won't be ashamed of it and I won't bottle it all up.

The point of this post isn't to share the wins and the triumphs, it's to show the milestones I hit on my journey.

I wouldn't change it, any of it. Everything I've been through has given me the experience I have and has shaped me into the man I am today.

You'd never know about the battles I've faced, unless I told you. This goes for EVERYONE, we have no idea what's going on inside anyone's head or what's happening in their life.

That's the whole point. Be kind to others, be respectful of their feelings, be vulnerable to open up to those you trust and stay strong ❀️

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK🧠

Off the back of the video earlier in the week, here's a continuation on what mental health is.

One of the biggest things about mental health is that it's not visible, or as visible as physical health is.

If you had a broken arm, not only you but everyone else can see that, simple. Poor mental health? Certainly not the same, sure, some of its impacts can be visible but it isn't.

Your body is your vehicle, your diet is your fuel and your mind is the pilot ✈️

How you THINK, how you FEEL and how you PERCEIVE, will impact how you ACT.

Your mental health impacts that, there can be no downplaying just how vital your mental health is.

There's 3 simple tips that you've probably heard a million times before, that can help your mental health.

Prioritising sleep πŸ’€πŸ’€
Exercising and being active πŸ’ͺ
Rest and decompression ✌️

Your health is your responsibility, so take charge, take control and become better than you have been before!πŸ’₯
