A great wee day out at the horse racing at Musselburgh Racecourse in Edinburgh. 🏇

What made the day even more special was seeing the event sponsored by my old Army regiment (The royal regiment of Scotland) . It was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with serving personnel, veterans and others who share that unique military connection.

Leaving the Army doesn’t mean leaving behind the relationships and experiences that come with it. Days like this are a great reminder of the value of community, connection and staying engaged with the veteran community.

A brilliant day, good conversations and plenty of familiar faces.

The only downside? I’m probably better waiting until tomorrow to check the bank account! 🫣

A HEALTHIER MIND AND BODY START WITH THE RIGHT SUPPORT

I’m Ashim Burungu - a CBT Therapist, Health & Wellbeing Physiologist and Personal Trainer.

Since beginning my career in health and wellbeing in 2017, I’ve been fortunate to bring together my experience in physical health, wellbeing and psychological therapy.

Today, I support people navigating life’s challenges and health-related difficulties through a collaborative, compassionate and non-judgemental approach to therapy.

My role isn’t to have all the answers. It’s to create a safe space where we can work together towards meaningful change.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me hiking, rucking, fishing, lifting weights or enjoying a good coffee. ☕️

Really pleased with the space we’re creating for men in the heart of Glasgow.

The Nook provides a safe, welcoming space where men can come together, talk openly, build connections and support one another without judgement.

It’s not my time yet mother-f****er

I’ve never really seen the implant in my chest as something to hide. It’s a reminder of what I’ve survived and of the resilience of the human body.

Recently, it saved my life again.

I went into ventricular fibrillation (VF), a life-threatening heart rhythm that can cause cardiac arrest. My ICD detected it and delivered the therapy I needed.

The cracks

They are not imperfections to be ashamed of. They are evidence of survival.

Like Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery and highlighting the repair rather than hiding it, I’ve learned to see my own history differently.

Still here. Still moving. Still getting stronger

Hello darkness, my old friend.

Sometimes darkness feels familiar. It can become a place we return to when life feels overwhelming, uncertain or simply too much.

But familiar doesn’t mean permanent.

At Revive CBT & Counselling, we believe that even in the darkest moments, change is possible. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Sometimes, the first step towards the light is simply acknowledging that you’re in the dark.
