Scottish Women and Girls in Sports Week
Here at Lenzie Rugby Club we are proud to support Scottish Women and Girls in Sports Week.
With female playing members from minis through to seniors we are proud of everything they do on and off the pitch!
This week we will be hearing from some of our playing members about why they love playing rugby so much!

North Glasgow teams including Lenzie, have got together to create an u18s team. Our aim is to give u18 girls a chance to develop and have plenty game time. Any other u18 from north Glasgow are most welcome.

LRFC Girls sponsored by Hamilton Robertson Insurance Brokers
On a personal note, I'm so proud to have been part of our ever-expanding girls' section at LRFC. Gill, Cara and I started it all off 7 years ago, with just a handful of players, when our kids had no girls' section to join at Lenzie Rugby Club . Luckily, Glenn agreed to coach for us (as none of us had any playing experience), Michael joined soon after and now Mark too, which is just as well as we now have players at u12, u14, u16 and u18 levels. There is now also a clear line of progression to our girls playing senior rugby with the Lenzie RFC Women. I'm especially proud of watching our players grow in confidence, build their skills and further develop their love of rugby in an inclusive, safe, supportive environment. The time has come for me to move on, but I would highly recommend getting involved in supporting your girls and our club in any way you can.
It's been a pleasure and an honour, and I wish the Lenzie Rugby Club Girls every success in the future.
