Again, the enigma that is boys football…
Overall a great 4-3 win to help secure 4th place in the league, which looking at our start to the season is fantastic…
We started the game positively and got our just deserts with Matthew scoring from close range to make it 1-0, we kept pressing and got our second goal in similar fashion with a close range shot by Jack to go 2-0 up, fairly quickly we added a third goal with pressurising the centre back in to scoring an own goal and at that stage we were cruising…we lost a sloppy goal just before half time which seemed to give them a lot of confidence and 3-1 quickly became 3-2, then 3-3 and we were on the back foot a little and we lost a bit of composure and at that time, if I’m being honest, they looked the more likely to score and only a fantastic save by Ross kept us level, but the boys kept pushing and pushing and in the final minute or so we got a free kick on the half way line which Ross G floated in onto the head of either Pat or Matthew to score the goal which gave us a 4-3 win, so as we are unsure who scored we will just say Patthew scored…
We would of been absolutely gutted if we hadn’t of won and luckily the boys kept pushing to the very end…

Sorry forgot to say, MOTM is a close one but with overall play and chipping in with a goal or possibly 2, the MOTM is Matthew…well done…

Last game of the season against a really tough opponent…let’s go out in a win…

What a great result today against the second placed team in the league…
Thought we were excellent today and every boy played their part…
First half started, thought we started well and were pressing well…Lost a bit of a sloppy goal after 5 minutes with a bit of a mix up at the back, but fair play to the boys they regrouped and didn’t let their heads go down and we then went on to have a number of good chances to equalise, but unfortunately couldn’t find the back of the net
Second half started the same as as we finished the first half with Rosebank looking the brighter team and the most likely to score, however as much as we battled to get the equaliser it was looking as if it may never come…Adam had a free kick from just outside the box which fizzed just over the bar, although I’ll need to check in Veo as I genuinely thought it was in and perhaps in and around their box the final pass was missing, but with about 10 minutes to go, the ball was played out to Josh on the left and he slid a pass across the 6 yard box for William to slip in and score a very well deserved equaliser…I still wonder whether it was a shot from Josh, but he was adamant he seen William at the back post…
From their kick off we pressed and pressed and both teams had chances and but with about 5 minutes to go, Dylan picked the ball up outside their box on the left and let fly with a screamer that soared into the top right corner to give the keeper no chance and give us a very deserved lead, however the drama wasn’t finished as they won a penalty in the last minute of the game, but just when you need him most, up stepped Ross Graham to magnificently save the penalty to give us the win…
MOTM is a really tough one today as there was excellent performances all over the park, but for me, with arguably his best performance of the season my MOTM is Ollie…he was excellent today, his positioning, passing and distribution of the ball was excellent…well done Ollie…

So today show’s you the enigma that is boys football…

I thought we were excellent today all over the pitch…first half was pretty even, although I didn’t think they had many chances, but neither did we, but I think the main difference is we were more composed on the ball and we were trying to play good football…
In the second half we made a few changes and the boys that came on fitted in really well…again I thought we were in the ascendancy and got our reward when Josh chested it in the net to lead and from then on I genuinely thought there was only one winner…
A good passing move put us through and we won a penalty, which Josh slotted home and not long after that we added a third goal for a very good 3-0 win…
MOTM with a hatrick and his overall tenacity and never give up attitude is Josh, and let me tell you, he was so relieved to score the penalty…
Special mention as well to our defence, who were solid today and again, for the most of it, very calm and composed…

First game post split away to very a good Cambuslang FC team…

Difficult game to assess today as we were really expected to win against our 2011s…
Started well and scored early on to go into a 1-0 lead…
After that, I thought we lacked intensity and a bit of composure…
We did have other chances to extend our lead, but didn’t take them…
We switched it after 20 minutes and brought on our subs…
The 2011s played well in spells, especially in the midfield…
Second half was much better and we showed a lot more composure (that might of coincided with Willie turning up 😄) and we quickly went into a 3-0 lead, but the 2011s got a goal back after a bit of a mix up from our keeper…
We very quickly made it 4-1 and with a few minutes to go we made it 5-1…
Goals scored today by Josh with 2, Matthew with 1 and Kyle also with 2…
There was some decent performances, but MOTM scoring 2 screamers includes postage stamp free kick is Kyle…to be fair Kyle doesn’t score easy goals…😄

Good 4-0 win today against the team sitting 4th in our league…
Do think they had a few boys out, but we were just too good for them…
Started the first half ok and it was pretty even although we did have 2 or 3 great chances to score…
Definitely more on it in the second half and we were very much in the ascendancy and got our just deserts scoring early, and from then on in, I thought we were too strong and never really looked like conceding or losing…
We continued to press and scored another 3…
Goals today from Ethan with 2, a penalty from Lucas and a bit of a screamer from Kyle Potts late on in the second half…
It was one of those games, where all the boys played well, with notable mentions for Harry, who was, as always, calm and collected and to Adam who was excellent in the middle of the park, but the MOTM in my opinion was Ethan…thought he was excellent today and capped off his performance with 2 goals…

Tough away friendly against a Cambuslang team who are flying high in our league, sitting 4th in the table…

Thought the boys were excellent today and were the better team overall…
We started the first half very lively and had them well on the back foot and to be fair, I thought their goal came against the run of play…but we dusted ourselves down and got our just deserts when Euan scored our first goal and this was quickly followed by our second goal with a header from William and we went in at half time leading 2-1…
We started the second half well as well, however I did think that Rob Roy definitely came back into it a played some decent football, but we then scored our 3rd when Josh netted from close range after pressing their defenders and winning the ball…
To lose another 2 goals was disappointing, but we can’t really have any complaints because as I said, I thought all of our boys were excellent and we were playing the team who are leading the division above us…
MOTM is a difficult one as it could have went to a number of players, but with his determination and assistance for the first goal and with scoring the 3rd goal, I thought Josh deserves it…
