GHA Rugby Club head into Saturday's Arnold Clark Premiership derby against Glasgow Hawks looking to extend their unbeaten run of 24 consecutive matches and defending a sequence of 15 consecutive home wins stretching back to the 9th December 2023.

Though GHA have secured four wins from the past six meetings with their West End rivals, they still only have a solitary home win in six previous Braidholm fixtures. This was achieved in October 2019, when they secured a last-gasp 31-26 Premiership victory. The match-winning score coming that day from Michael Fox.

Current Club Captain Fox is set to again write his name into the history books by overtaking record points scorer Jim Noonan into 2nd place on the All-Time Appearance Chart. Currently, the two are tied on 173 Caps, with Noonan amassing 133 GHA appearances between 2002 and 2010, alongside 40 he earnt for pre-amalgamation club Glasgow Southern. Foxy has a bit of catching up to do on the points scoring front, currently sitting on 45, whilst Kiwi Noonan is clear on 1,140.

Additionally, GHAs 2nd highest point-scorer, Andrew Goudie is due to overtake Chris Binnie into 9th place on the All-Time Appearance Chart when he earns his 139th Cap.

GHA Rugby Club completed a clean sweep of the 2025/26 Arnold Clark Premierships' four Border clubs with a dramatic 36-40 comeback victory over Selkirk RFC.

Maintaining their unbeaten start to the season, GHA are now one of only two top-flight clubs alongside reigning champions Ayr to hold a 100% record. Four successive victories is the clubs best-ever start to a top-flight campaign and the first-time they have achieved four consecutive victories at this level.

The win at Selkirk takes GHAs unbeaten run to 24 matches, stretching back to the last defeat at Selkirk in the Breathing Space Trophy match during August 2024. This was only the second time GHA have left Phillipshaugh victorious in 14 previous visits. The only previous victory was a 24-27 Premiership win in March 2022.

Club Captain Michael Fox reached another milestone, joining the clubs record points scorer Jim Noonan in 2nd place on the All-Time Appearance Chart, earning his 173rd Cap.

A further 7 pojnts from Gregor Drummond sees him move within six points of Murray Houston in 3rd place on the All-Time Points Scorer Chart. Gregor is on 403 and Murray on 409.

Next in the GHA Rugby Club Centurions Countdown is no. 20, current S & C coach, Ryan Jenkins.

Ryan made his 1st XV debut during the clubs' 2007/08 Premier One campaign, in a narrow home victory over Edinburgh Accies.

A versatile lock / back-row, Ryan was a mainstay in the 1st XV during a tough period as the club looked to rebuild after relegation from the top-flight and a shift in focus to homegrown talent.

He was a crucial member of the 2012/13 Championship A title-winning squad and earnt his 100th Cap in a West Cup semi-final upset victory over Hillhead Jordanhill RFC in january 2014.

He has scored nine tries in his 118 appearances to date.

GHA Rugby Club are set to induct the 34th member to its Centurion Club this weekend with Charlie Longergan set to make his 100th 1st XV appearance against Kelso.

Charlie exploded into the 1st XV squad back in September 2015 scoring a brace of tries in both his debut against Aberdeen Grammar and Kelso Rugby Football Club the following week.

Over the past decade Charlie ha been a consistent try-scorer, amassing 53 so far, putting him 4th on the All-Time Try Scoring Chart and 9th on the All-Time Points Scorer Chart with 265. He has bagged two hat-tricks, both coming in last seasons title-winning season.

At no. 21 on the GHA Rugby Club Centurion Countdown is the current head coach of the clubs U'18s, Andrew Gillman.

'Gilly' made his debut on the opening-day of the clubs 2008/2009 Premier Two campaign against Hamilton Rugby Club. He was one of a number of young players brought into the 1st XV squad after the clubs relegation from the top-flight in the previous season.

Equally capable at scrum-hald or in the back-three, his electrifying speed of the mark and eye for a gap always brought excitement and spectacles a match.

He sits 5th in the All-Time Appearance Chart and holds a one from one record as match Captain.

GHA Match 504 - Melrose (H) (30-8-2025).pdf 31/08/2025

GHA Rugby Club backed up their opening day 2025/26 Arnold Clark Premiership win at Hawick with a last-gasp victory over Melrose at Braidholm. The win extends the record-breaking fourteen match winning run at home home and twenty-two unbeaten overall.

The 13-10 win makes it four home matches unbeatean against Melrose, stretching back to March 2005. The 27-23, Premiership One victory that day was also the last top-flight victory over the men from the Greenyards.

GHA have only once previously won their opening two matches in a top-flight campaign. That was back in 2004/2005 when they achieved victories at home to Gala (32-20) and at Hawick (10-17). They have never won their opening three matches of a top-flight campaign and have only once before won three consecutive top-flight matches.

Replacement Jon Davis became the third GHA debutant this season and Euan McKirdy earnt his tenth 1st XV Cap, a decade after his ninth. He last played in a National League One home victory over Jed-Forest on 14th March 2015.

Gregor Drummond's 8 points moves him to within 4 points of Peter Jericevich in 4th on the All-Time Points Scorer Chart.

GHA Match 503 - Hawick (A) (23-8-2025).pdf 24/08/2025

GHA Rugby Club kick-started their 2025/26 Arnold Clark Premiership campaign with a bonus point victory over Hawick RFC. The win extends GHAs record-breaking unbeaten run to 21 competitive matches.

The 20-29 win is only the 3rd time GHA have returned victorious from Mansfield Park and the first since a 10-17 Premiership One win in September 2004. It is their first ever try-scoring bonus point claimed away at Hawick.

It is only the second time GHA have won on the opening day of a top-flight season. The only previous occasions was a 32-20 home win over Gala Rugby to start of the 2004/05 Premiership One season.

Glen Little scored his second and only GHAs fourth top-flight hat-trick; joining Rory Watson (2004), Jackson Baillie (2019) and Max MacFarlane (2021) on a very exclusive list.

On the eve of GHA Rugby Clubs return to Scottish Rugbys top-flight for their 7th season at the top table, the history book is ready to be rewritten.

Double-winning GHA Rugby Club make their return to top-flight rugby for the first time in three seasons this week. The National League Champions will start their 2025/2026 Arnold Clark Premiership campaign with a visit to Mansfield Park to face Hawick RFC.

GHA will take their 20-game unbeaten record to a venue they haven't won at for twenty-one years.

No. 22 in the GHA Rugby Club Centurions Countdown is 53 times Capped Scotland international Andrew Henderson.

Andy joined GHA in the summer of 2011 after retiring from professional rugby. He immediately took up the role of Club and 1st XV Captain and steered the young squad back to the 2nd tier after two seasons.

Over his five seasons as a GHA player, Andy amassed 102 Caps, 170 Points and winning record of 59%.
