Sorry another sad greenkeeping post 🤣
Just shows how important aeration is. Not only does it help brake up thatch it also creates air spaces in the profile for the roots to travel through driving the roots down. Perfect example of the roots going down old tine holes 👍
Progress👍

Morning
Just the 22mm of rain last night 😳
All ok buggies on but if I could ask you stick to rough and tree line where possible.
Topdressing and brushing the greens today followed by a granular fertiliser.
Thanks 🏌️♂️⛳️
Morning
Some light greens maintenance this week.
We are solid tinning with 8mm tines to a depth of 175mm. This will help relieve compaction, root development and get much needed air into the profile.
We are also scarifying x2 to a depth of approx 6mm. This it to remove organic matter (thatch)and get air into the grass canopy.
All this will be followed by a light topdress which will be brushed in and then a granular fertiliser will be applied which will help the grass plant through the rest of the summer months.
Sorry for any inconvenience but it is essential that this type of work gets carried out even during the playing season.
Thanks 🏌️♂️⛳️
