Now I know me saying this might surprise a few people, but bare with me.

The gym is not a place you go to lose weight.

It’s a place you go to get stronger, build muscle, get fitter, become healthier, to de-stress, to build confidence, to move better…

The list goes on.

Losing weight is way more than just what you do in the gym.

Now, that doesn’t mean to say you shouldn’t go to the gym at all if you’re on a weight loss journey because you absolutely should.

But going in and trying to burn as many calories as possible or absolutely smashing yourself to the point you go home and can’t move any more is not the way to do it.

And it can be pretty detrimental to your journey.

See the gym as a means to get stronger, build muscle, get fitter and become healthier.

It’s a great tool to have in your weight loss tool box, but it’s so easy to use it for the wrong reasons.

Because I've been there, done it and got the (very large) t-shirt.

After countless attempts, failure after failure and feeling completely helpless…

Online coaching - what is it and how does it work?

The end goal from my perspective is to get you results and give you the education and knowledge to stay there.

Not only physically, but also mentally.

We aim to build the habits that will allow you to navigate the rest of your life without having to worry about going back to your 'starting' point.

Each training programme is tailored to fit your specific needs and goals and will be adapted as you progress.

Daily WhatsApp support will mean any hurdles in the road can be navigated with ease.

Weekly check-ins will keep you accountable and allow us to map out the week ahead with complete clarity on what's to be done on a weekly basis to get you from A to B.

I’m going booze free this Christmas.

Now I know what you’re thinking

ā€œBut it's Christmas. You can’t not drink at Christmasā€

The thing is though… I can not drink at Christmas.

I decided a week ago I wanted to give up the booze again for a few reasons.

1.I ’m an absolute fu***ng lightweight

2. I can never just have ā€œa fewā€

3. It ruins at least 2 days from being hungover, low on energy and eating sh*te food.

I had a really heavy day last Saturday and it put me out of action until the Tuesday.

I even slept through the recording of my own podcast.

When I was lying absolutely dying on the Sunday night I asked myself ā€œis this really worth it?ā€

And the answer was ā€œnot one bitā€

Sure it’s always a good idea at the time to go absolutely mental and not give a flying f**k about what’s going on when you’re 6 pints deep

But the lack of control I have when I’m drunk scares me.

So me going booze free is me taking back control.

I’m in charge of what I put in my body.

I’m in complete control of what I want to do and what I don’t want to do.

The same goes for you too.

You are the boss of what goes in your body.

You are the boss of doing what you want and not doing what you don’t want.

No-one else.

Remember that.

And if you decide you want to go to a Christmas night out or a party and not drink or eat till you explode…

…Then you go for it.

And if someone gets upset by this,

F**k them.

You don’t have to be relentless to lose fat and be happy in your own skin. Just this šŸ‘‡

>> Be consistently consistent and tick at least 80% of the boxes every single week.

Alongside this focus your time doing these 6 things and if you do you’ll find yourself reaping the rewards.

šŸ‘ŠFirst up set yourself a calorie target that takes you into a slight deficit

šŸ‘ŠSecondly set yourself a protein range and hit it every day

šŸ‘ŠThen you’ll want to drink at least 2litres of water every day

šŸ‘ŠSleeping 7-9hrs a night will also help

šŸ‘ŠYou also want to move as much as possible every day - daily or weekly step target will help with this

šŸ‘ŠAnd finally lift weights 2-4 times a week

Here’s how Jade managed to lose 12lbs, build confidence and fit into her old jeans without having to give up those Chinese takeaways.

You see Jade always struggled with dieting...

She’d tried dropping her calories mega low, giving up all her favourite foods completely and even tried to out train what she deemed to be ā€œbadā€ food when she had it

Which to be honest, just led to her feeling deflated and like she was failing.

And the advice she’d been given so far?! Pfft ridiculous!

Carbs are bad

Avoid sugar

Calories don’t matter as long as you eat healthy

I’ll explain briefly why these are ridiculous…

Carbs are NOT bad, they’re actually the bodies main source of energy.

Sugar is not the enemy. And if it was, why is fruit so good for you?

Calories are the number one thing that matters when it comes to fat loss!

What Jade really needed was this…

Structure in her diet plan

Structure in her training plan

More understanding and knowledge of how fat loss really works

Then and only then could Jade achieve long-lasting fat loss.

Weekly round up...

Myself and my good mate Scott ran an absolutely incredible FREE 5-Day Fat Loss Kickstarter this week

I spent a LOT of time in the home office/conservatory with my sidekick Bear and fu***ng loved every minute of it

Took a wee break from the laptop to go see some adrenaline junkies on dirt bikes with no brakes

Took another break from the laptop to go see my football team play - very poorly might I add

And squeezed in a duck and swan feeding session with some of the fam

Overall its been a lovely jubbly wee week and I'm already looking forward to seeing what this week brings
