MATCH REPORT ⚪️⚫️🔴

Tonight we traveled to after a disappointing result on Saturday afternoon.

A tough task awaited the lads tonight but to a man they all showed fighting spirit and desire in a tough battle.

We found ourselves 2-0 down within 30 mins due to our own mistakes. We then found the back of the net right before half time through Robbie brander which gave us the lift we needed.

HT - Forth 2-1 GUFC

The half time message to the lads was to show their character more and be braver at front of goal when opportunities arise. We wanted the lads to show more belief in their play.

The second half could not have started any better when we pulled level within the first 3 minutes of the second half with a great delivery from substitute Ben Kane and finished of by Ruairidh MacGregor.

In an intense battle between both teams Forth found themselves down to 10 men when their centre half handled the ball just outside the box giving GUFC a great opportunity from the free kick. Up stepped David Goodwillie and he riffled the ball low into the bottom right and corner of the net giving GUFC a second half lead on the 69th minute.

Forth threw everything at us as they looked for the equaliser and through frustration found themselves down to 9 men when their winger cleaned Jamie Kane seeing the ref produce the second yellow.

GUFC found themselves attacking in numbers in the final minutes of the match which a great move allowed Fraser Scott to slot the ball home as he found himself all alone in the Forth penalty area.
