EXCITING NEWS FROM BAM PICKLEBALL CLUB

BAM is launching a new session for more advanced players.

It will be held at the National Badminton Academy in Scotstoun on Wednesdays from 12.00 noon to 2.00pm, starting Wednesday, 8 July. To take part, players need to meet at least one of the following :

1. Competed in and won at least one match in the 4.0+ category at a national or international competition in the last 18 months.

2. Have a DUPR rating of 4.0+ with a reliability rating of at least 60%

3. Medalled in the 3.5+ category or above, nationally or internationally in the last 18 months.

This session is open to BAM members and, by invitation, to non-members who meet the criteria. Meeting the criteria does not guarantee a place, as this will be decided by the committee.

We would hope that non-members might soon consider joining BAM, but that would not be a condition of taking part in the initial period, after which continued participation would depend on joining BAM.

If you think you meet the criteria and would like to take part, please email [email protected] by Friday 26 June.

We look forward to hearing from you!

BAM CLUB TEAMS DO IT AGAIN!

Another great day for Bearsden and Milngavie Pickleball Club in the Pickleball Scotland National West League yesterday.

BAM Lomond edged a brilliant 5 - 4 win over DL Hamilton in Division 1 at the Scottish National Academy. Proper nail biting stuff with some fantastic rallies and big points when it mattered most.

Not to be outdone BAM Vorlich matched that result with their own 5 - 4 win against East Renfrewshire Pickleball Club in Division 2 at the Allander Sports Centre. Another really tight match and a great team performance.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Huge well done to everyone who played. The standard and fighting spirit across both teams was great.

And the celebrations did not disappoint either with the BAM Lomond team enjoying a well deserved bite to eat at a local Indian restaurant afterwards. Always better when you are celebrating a win! πŸ₯³πŸ“

GREAT WIN FOR BAM LOMOND

BAM Lomond continued their good form in the Pickleball Scotland Regional West League Division 1 with a solid 7- 2 win against Glasgow West Hydro yesterday at the National Badminton Academy, Scotstoun.

It was a great all round performance, with everyone contributing to an excellent result. There was a real sense of focus and determination throughout, which was reflected in the score.

It was also lovely to have our captain and vice captain, Louise and Juanita, there supporting on the day.

After the match, there was a relaxed drink and a chat, with time taken to debrief and plan ahead for next weekend’s return fixture against DL Hamilton.

Well done to everyone involved. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ“

PICKLEBALL4PAWS CHARITY TEAM EVENT A FANTASTIC SUCCESS AT ALLANDER

Bearsden and Milngavie Pickleball Club was delighted with the success of the Pickleball4Paws charity team event held on Sunday at Allander Sports Centre. The day had great energy, competitive spirit, and plenty of smiles all round.

We are pleased to share that the event raised over Β£1500 for local charity CATFLAP PET RESCUE, a tremendous achievement and a real credit to everyone involved.

A huge thank you to Laura Snowdon, Director of Premium Wholesale, for her very generous sponsorship. Every competitor received a Molton Brown gift, and she also provided a superb raffle hamper, won by Tricia Whitaker.

A sincere thank you to all our wonderful volunteers, including Sharon Mackechnie, who gave their time, energy, and enthusiasm to make the day such a success.

And a special mention to everyone who contributed the delicious homemade cakes and sandwiches, which were very much enjoyed throughout the day.

β€œI am absolutely delighted with the feedback from the day. Our trial of the new format was a real success, and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves while supporting a great cause.

We are very much looking forward to building on this and running more events like this in the future, and we will be announcing more details soon.

We would love to hear your thoughts on the format, so please do share any feedback,” said Anne Smillie, Chair
