What a way to finish the season!
The Finnart Reds went into their final match determined to “go out with a bang” — and while it was a hot, hard-fought game, that’s exactly what they did.
On a very warm day, the boys certainly felt the heat, with conditions almost making it feel like a pre-season tour of Boston with Scotland! Despite that, the team started with Milo in goal, Brax on the right, David on the left, Dylan in central defence, Hudson on the left wing, Aidan on the right, and Lochlan leading the line.
Park Black began strongly and showed some excellent football in the early stages. They had a couple of standout players who looked more advanced in their play, moving the ball confidently and causing problems through midfield. It took Finnart a while to settle and get to grips with their playmakers.
Early pressure told, and a loose clearance fell kindly to Park Black, who finished well past the helpless Milo to take the lead.
Dylan was then withdrawn after a tireless shift trying to shut down their main playmaker, with Braeden coming on. Shortly after, Aidan picked up a knock to the head, forcing a reshuffle. Dylan moved to the right, Lochlan dropped into midfield, and Braeden went up front.
That change proved crucial.
Dylan won the ball high up the pitch, drove forward with a brilliant solo run, and calmly slotted past the keeper to bring Finnart level at 1–1.
Park Black were clearly rattled and the game began to get more physical, with challenges and shirt-pulling creeping in from both sides. Finnart, however, stayed focused and went into half-time deservedly level.

A few strong words and tactical adjustments were needed, and Finnart came out for the second half with a much improved attitude. Mohammed came on to the left wing, and Aidan returned to the pitch.
The team immediately looked sharper, competing harder in midfield and refusing to be bullied out of the game.
The breakthrough came from a clever set-piece situation. Mohammed was fouled just outside the box, and while the opposition were setting up, he quickly slipped a smart pass through to the onrushing Aidan, who finished from a tight angle to put Finnart 2–1 ahead.
Chances followed, with Lochlan and Dylan both going close to extending the lead, while Mohammed’s introduction gave the team real energy and attacking momentum.
Further changes saw Braeden make way for Dylan, and Aidan replaced by Hudson.
Finnart then added a third goal through Hudson, sparking great celebrations from the bench and making it 3–1.
The game became increasingly competitive, with some strong challenges on both sides. David was even told to calm down after a robust challenge that took out both a Park Black striker and Lochlan — although the ball was there to be won!
Park Black tried to respond, but Finnart’s defence worked tirelessly as a unit to keep them out and limit clear chances.
The final moment came when Mohammed and Dylan both went in to ensure the ball crossed the line, with Mohammed getting the final touch to make it 4–1 and seal the victory.

This was a difficult decision, as every player gave everything from start to finish. So instead of picking one individual, the award goes to the entire team — a full squad performance full of effort, determination, and character.
