The first division 2 semi-final kicked off on Monday Night, seeing us away against Bradford Dukes. This was a very close meeting throughout, with the home side managing a 6 point advantage after 9 heats.
Toby Griffiths was on form, dropping only a single point on the night, resulting in 14 points from 5 rides. Ryan, Dylan & Scott all put in worthy performances to keep the gap close going into the second leg, to hopefully see us book a place in the final.
Semi-Final 2 will take place next Monday, at the Ashfield Stadium in Glasgow!

Semi Final 1 was a disappointing result for the Tigers, as we failed to hit the ground running in the playoffs, for the second season in a row. A clash where the better team ultimately won on the night led to a 35-55 defeat for the Tigers, against the reigning champions, Bradford Dukes.
The meeting was level pe***ng after Heat 5, with both teams struggling to find a break - but a poor run of results left us significantly behind into the closing stages. Top scorer on the night was Kuba Jarmuz, who managed a brilliant 11 points from 5 rides.
We will face Bradford in leg 2 of the semi finals on Tuesday 13th February, hoping to salvage some good points to close off the season in good form.

Last night saw the Glasgow Cubs away from home to face the reigning champions: Ocean City Vikings. A tough night throughout led to the Cubs’ first loss of the season, finishing 33-23 in favour of the home side.
The meeting started closely, with a win in Heat 1 for new number 1, Toby Griffiths, showing why he’s earned that number this season, but this was unfortunately as close as the two teams would get throughout the meeting, with 2 4-2’s and 3 5-1’s for the home side in the following 5 races. Heat 7 saw the Cubs return to some form, with Toby Griffiths leading a 4-2 result, with Freddie Burroughs in third. Heat 8 saw the cubs use their first joker of the season, opting to go for Side Number 1 to produce a 5-3 heat advantage going into the final race. Heat 9 would see the third straight heat advantage for the Cubs, with Ryan Ingram in third, just behind Toby, who took his third win of the night - but this late run of form wasn’t enough to stop the Vikings.
A disappointing match for the DL Team, who see their next meeting tomorrow night, back at home against the Warrington Wildcatz!
1. Toby Griffiths - 14 (3, 1, 3, 4, 3)
2. Dylan Hodgetts - 3 (0, 2, 0, 1)
3. Freddie Burroughs - 1 (0, 0, 0, 1)
4. Ryan Ingram - 5 (2, 0, 1, 1, 1)

With the new averages in effect, the Cubs returned home for their 4th fixture of the season against the Cradley Heathens Squad. A closely fought match throughout led to a victory for the home squad, 33-24.
The match started evenly, with a shared Heat 1, before Toby Griffiths & Ryan Ingram delivered a 5-1 performance in Heat 2 to pull a 4 point gap. The following two heats would be shared again, with Ryan & Toby winning Heats 3 & 4, respectively, before returning to heat advantages with a 5-1 in Heat 5. Another 5-1 in Heat 6 would see the Cubs stretch a 12 point advantage, with Dylan & Slawek.
Cradley used their joker in Heat 7, with number 1 James Chattin getting a win and the Heathens delivering a 7-2 blow to the cubs. A 4-2 advantage would continue the Heathens’ good momentum in Heat 8, with an exclusion for Ryan Ingram. Finally, the cubs returned to familiar winning ways in Heat 9 - with Toby & Ryan delivering their second 5-1 of the night to seal a 9 point advantage for the home side.
Thank you to Cradley for a clean and well fought meeting, we look forward to meeting you away from home.
Still undefeated after 5 race weeks, this week will see the Cubs take on the reigning champions: Ocean City Vikings, away from home… hoping for yet another win.
1. Slawek Machowski - 4+1 (2, 0, 2’, 0)
2. Dylan Hodgetts - 6+2 (1’, 0, 2’, 3)
3. Toby Griffiths - 13 (3, 3, 2, 2, 3)
4. Ryan Ingram - 10+2 (2’, 3, 3, EX, 2’)

Following a defeat on the road to Bradford in a nip and tuck match where one or two races could’ve flipped it. It was time for change at Glasgow to strengthen for the remainder of the season. With Albert Zielinski requesting a hard earned break from the game there was a stand out name ready to make his comeback to the tigers. We are delighted to announce the signing of our very own fast Freddie. Welcome back Freddie France. And with him and vice captain Andrew Dent qualifying in tonight’s SEC qualifiers. It’s clear the kevlars of the Glasgow tigers suit Freddie.
Kopyto tigers on the up and ready to battle on.

Off we went again with another tigers meeting and the first home meeting of the season against a strong Swindon Spitfires SCUK team.
A strong start from the tigers in heat 1 with a 4-2 was backed up by a brilliant 5-1 from the formidable Griffiths brothers at reserve. But this meeting was never going to be easy. Vice captain Andrew Dent having his worst start to a season ever not helping the cause and Swindon fought back with a heat advantage in heat 3. A shared heat then a tigers 4-2 extended the lead and a heat 7 5-1 meant the home team had a 10 point lead at the halfway stage. Back came Swindon though reducing the lead to 8 and then followed 3 shared heats as the meeting headed towards a tense finale. 2 4-2s though in 13 and 14 meant the tigers made it 3 from 3 this season with a final score of 50-40. Thanks to Swindon for a really smooth and fair meeting and we look forward to the reverse fixture.
Strong scoring from all tigers with the exception of Dent who now looks forward to a spell at reserve to try and gain some much needed confidence back.
He will be replaced in the top 5 by new heat leader and pocket rocket Toby Griffiths “the hair” himself is flying and with an away meeting at his beloved Wolverhampton the home track of Manchester coming up he will be fancying another good score.
Let’s go KOPYTO TIGERS.
Szymon Makowski 9 (5)
Lukasz Furtak 8 + 1 (5)
Andrew Dent 4 (4)
Prezemek Ciucka 9 + 1 (5)
Toby Griffiths 11 + 2 (7)
Jamie Griffiths 9 + 1 (5)

Cubs back in action last night in this non stop season.
A tough meeting was in prospect as they took the journey to Lublin to face last years finalists Bradford.
Nerves were settled early though with a 5-1 in heat one setting the cubs on their way.
Nip and tuck for a bit then and a good use of a joker brought Bradford back into it. In the end though the strength in depth in the cubs squad was just too strong for them and the final score was 26-31 in favour of Glasgow for a brilliant and well deserved away win. Joining the div 1 team on 2 from 2.
Everyone scored well to contribute
Ryan Ingram 6 + 1
Toby Griffiths 8 + 1
Slawek Marek Machowski 11 + 1
Dylan Spuddy Hodgetts 6 + 2.

A busy week this week. Following the Tigers opening day win on Tuesday the cubs took to the track on Wednesday and made it 2 from 2 with a superb hard fought victory meaning the perfect start to glasgows season.
So we moved on to Sunday and a trip to Lodz and the Clydesiders in D1.
The Tigers were fired up for this and practice had been a mixture of brilliance and lots of time spent in the airbags so anything could happen.
An opening 5-1 to the tigers set the tone but then two straight 3-3s In heats 2 and 3 showed the opposition weren’t going to just lie down. But then a heat 4 5-0 and two consecutive 5-1s took control of the meeting and the tigers never looked back. They won 8 of the remaining 9 heats to run out winners 66 points to 23.
Everyone scored well on the night. With captain Kopyto Makowski bagging a paid max along with Lukasz Furtak. Prezemek once again showed his class. Although Albert will surely be waking up a bit disappointed this morning and the team were also highly disappointed in vice captain Dent dropping one point. He is on a final warning now. Worst of all though surely will be Toby Griffiths. On for his first ever paid max. His hair got in his eyes and he hit the tapes. Unbelievable. Brilliant debut made for Jamie Griffiths scoring a brilliant paid 11 from his first 5 riders for Glasgow.
Maximum points for the tigers again then and next up we welcome Swindon for our first home meeting of the season looking to continue our winning start.
Clydesiders 23 Glasgow Tigers 66
Szymon Makowski 14+1 (5)
Lukasz Furtak 10 + 2 (4)
Albert Zielinski 4 + 1 (4)
Andrew Dent 11 (4)
Prezemek Ciucka 12 + 2 (5)
Toby Griffiths 8 + 1 (4)
Jamie Griffiths 7 + 4 (5)

So season 7 is off and running and we started with what was always going to be a tough match against Rye House ‘Lavelles Salon’ Hammers on their new track of Chorzow. Fair to say this track didn’t suit all of our team and the withdrawal of polish rider Lukasz furtak meant it was going to be a tense evening.
From heat 1 though the tiger showed they were there to fight taking a 4 point lead from the first two races with a superb debut win for Toby Griffiths in heat 2. Unfortunately the less said about Andrew Dents performance tonight though the better as he hated the track and then to top it all 1500 ping and a 5-1 later in heat 3 and the scores were level. Then began the nip and tuck and after heat 10 the hammers were two points up.
But then came 5 heat winners from 5 for the tigers and some decent back up points from everyone meant that the tigers roared to victory in the end 49-41.
Superb debuts from Toby and prezemek top scoring on the day and backed up by kopyto captain Szymon Makowski. Albert put his track issues to one side to score valuable points where it counted and Andrew and Ryan Anderson will just say that every point counts and come again.
So a flying start and next up we head to Łódź on Sunday for another away match. 4 out of the first 5 are away from home.
LETS GO TIGERS 🐅🐅🐅
Szymon makowski 10 (5)
Lukasz Furtak R/R
Albert Zielinski 5 + 3 (5)
Andrew Dent 4 (4)
Prezemek Ciuka 12 + 1 (6)
Ryan Anderson 1 (3)
Toby Griffiths 17 + 1 (7)

Last but by no means least. This guy is setting new records daily round the Glasgow track and when on form cannot be caught. He loves the game. In fact he’s obsessed with the game. And that practice pays off. If only he put the same level of attention into his hair. Welcome Toby Griffiths.
What a lineup for the cubs this season. Should be a brilliant season. Go get em lads. 👍🐯🐯👍🐯🐯👍
