With the new season well underway this is my first post for a while.
Last night we had 5 tables playing in the first club championship evening. Well done to David Amon and Wilma Brownlie coming first closely followed by Don and Janice Ballantyne in second place.
September was a busy month with several new members finding their feet in the more formal setting of the club nights. We still have members without regular partners so if you wish to join us give us a call.

Killearn Bridge Club
Killearn Bridge Club is a small friendly club which meets on Tuesdays during the winter (September to October) at 6.45 pm (for a 7.00 pm. Killearn Bridge Club
start) in the Village Hall. We then change to online for the darker months. New members are always welcome.

The regular season finishes on Tuesday next week with the final round of the club championship.
Throughout the summer we are having tournaments with learner players twice a month on Tuesday evenings. Look forward to seeing many future members then.
Following an enjoyable club night last week we have another similar meeting this week on Tuesday.
Next week our learners will be joining us again for another chance to play in a club environment.

Well done to Killearn with another thrilling victory against Drymen.
The game was played in the best of spirits and the TD ( tournament director) was not needed at all.
We have one more online meeting on Tuesday and then we are face to face for the Summer.
Thanks to Malone’s at Buchanan Castle Golf Club last night for an excellent meal and hospitality. Food and service were fantastic.
It was Killearn Bridge Club’s annual dinner and fun bridge afternoon. Congratulations to Janice for winning the prize.
Bridge is still a fun game and 20 members of the Club had a good time.
That’s the bridge finished for 2024. We ended with the Christmas party where our learners joined up with the regular competitors for a fun competition and some food and refreshments. Fun was had by all
We start up again on Tuesday 7 January 2025 with the dinner taking place on Sunday the 26th January. Watch this space for more details.

As the end of the year approaches, its about time for our Christmas party. In addition to our members the 14 or so learners will be attending. This will be our biggest party for many years! Please remember to wear Christmas jumpers and party hats.

A busy week for Killearn bridge club. On Tuesday following the hour change, we had our first online club night of the season. It was round 2 of the club championship with a win for Gavin and Marion.
On Wednesday, 13 learners continued their lessons learning how to play in a major suit. Thanks to the 4 teachers and the participant who brought the biscuits!
Now the clocks have changed, we will be playing online on Tuesday. This will continue into the new year.
However, we have two events in December and January which will enable us to meet each other face to face: our Christmas party on 10 December and our Annual Dinner late in January 2025. 🧑🎄♥️♣️♦️♠️
