New 3-week block to boost your cycling confidence 🚴♀
Following a brilliant first block, we are pleased to bring back another one starting Friday 12 June. This is a fabulous opportunity for those who already know how to ride a bike, but are feeling wobbly, lacking confidence or want to work on specific skills.
The block will be tailored to the small group of participants so everyone gets the most out of the sessions. However, the rough plan for the sessions is as follows:
🔸 Week 1 - Off road cycle skills in nearby park (Getting on and off the bike safely, signalling, turning, braking, gears and looking over your shoulder whilst cycling)
🔸Week 2 - Cycling skills in practice - using quiet residential streets we will practice gears, signalling, cycling with others and where to cycle on the roads
🔸Week 3 - Cycling skills in practice - using quiet roads we will progress previously learnt skills and look at rules of the road and how to cycle on very quiet roads/in low traffic
There will be a short break between week 2 and 3 where you are encouraged to practice your skills either at home (if you have a bike) or by attending the Confidence Building Cycling Skills Session on Saturday 27 June.
The cycling skills and confidence block is open to women and non-binary folks aged 16+ and the whole block is pay as you can £3-60 (£1-20 per session).
As spaces are limited we recommend booking as soon as you can via Plinth: https://book.plinth.org.uk/e/MjssPyy84QNxcuhd8sLz

I cycled as a child but when I had my children I struggled to see how to transport them. Last year I learnt about cargo bikes and then found women on wheels and they hire out cargo bikes. I hired the estrali and for once I could cycle with my 3 children! I have loved the bike and we have been cycling to school and nursery, to clubs, to friends houses.

New month, new 4-hour ride 🚵♀️🚵♀️🚵♀️
This Saturday we are heading further away across the north of Glasgow to reach the lovely Kilmardinny Loch in Bearsden. Surrounded by diverse woodland it's a wee gem to explore. You can expect a fun, social ride starting and finishing at our Hub in the southside. It may take us a wee bit longer than four hours so keep this in mind if you fancy coming along.
As always booking is via Plinth: https://book.plinth.org.uk/e/ahyEj9d4ST7oe46L6qYU

I love my bike, it's that sense of freedom.
Sometimes it can be tricky in traffic.
But I love getting out and into the fresh air.
