I am no Yogi, but I do enjoy a good stretch session.

Taking some time out-with my other training sessions to focus on stretching can help mobility normal gym routines.

Here’s a wee time lapse of a stretch session. I try and repeat sequences, this will allow me to work on a stretch and open up the joints.

I also take 5 mins at the end of a stretch to lie flat, close my eyes, empty my head and focus on deep breathing and bring myself into an almost meditative state. It’s good for the soul.

We can all look at ourselves and nit pick at the changes we’d like to make, and I am no different.

Over the past few months, my shoulder training has taken a back seat.

Switching up my training to place a focus on the delts and allow them to “catch up”.

Posting this on here to keep myself accountable.

Have you set your week up for success?

Planned your gym days? Prepped your meals? Booked in your sessions.

Doesn’t have to be Sundays, but taking a day to review the week ahead, put a plan in place, get yourself ready for the next 7 days ahead is vital.

When you get to day 7, you can look at the week and feel a sense of achievement, it will revitalise you for the week ahead.

Getting that gym membership sorted, getting in touch with that PT for info, starting that healthy living plan … whatever it maybe, this is the month to start the ball rolling so by the time “resolution” day arrives, you’re good to go!
