It's a big week coming up for us with 9️⃣8️⃣ members gearing up for our annual
President's Cup race on Wednesday 🏆

Firstly, a wee Babcock 10k Series update confirming that our Mens Team comprising Oscar Coetzee, Paul McNairn & Bryan Mulgrew were overall series winners🥇with Oscar also retaining his series MV40 title🥇

'Team Murphy' was out on Friday 5th June at the 50k AYRSHIRE COAST SUNSET ULTRA 🌅 starting and finishing at Irvine beach, south past Ayr and back, and designed to run from sunset to sunrise 😴 amazing from Grant finishing 2nd in 3:50:31🥈🥳 and Iain just behind in 4th with 4:06:45 🤩

On Saturday 6th, Angela Eadie took on her first ultra at Wild Deer Events Priory 100k 😯🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 a trail race along the Northumberland coast, from Bamburgh Castle 🏰 to Tynemouth Priory ⛪️ an amazing achievement by Angela, finishing in 17:19:27 🤩

On Sunday 7th, it was the Roon The Toon Kilmarnock 10k 🏡 well done to our eight Bellas who completed this one and took an empire biscuit home 🎱🍥 first home for us was Jamie Wieland 38:55 👏

Well done to Jordan Davidson 38:32 who was 1st place🏆 at the latest Up and Running Events Queen's Park 10k 'World Cup Warm Up' on Sunday 🌳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and at the Milngavie Trail race, it was a great run over the 8.5 mile course by Ben Nurse 53:46 in his Glasgow FrontRunners vest to take 3rd place🥉❤️‍🩹

📆 Bellahouston Harriers is hosting the Brian Goodwin Memorial 10k road race on 19th June 2026. The event is sold out and has attracted a strong field of club runners with over 500 entrants.

🙏 This is an appeal to our friends across Scotland’s running community for support in helping us to fill the marshalling roster to ensure we have a well managed, safe and fun event.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁?
📆⏰ Volunteers are asked to attend from 6.00pm on Friday 19th June at Cartha Queen’s Park Rugby Club, Glasgow, G41 4SN, in Pollok Park. The race starts at 7.30pm and we anticipate all marshals will have completed their duties and returned to the clubhouse by 9pm.

On Saturday 30th, at the Outsider Events Blair Castle Trail Weekender 🏰 Calum Brown conquered the Full Tilt 58k Ultra (c. 36 miles) 🌳 over 6,400 feet of ascent over two Munros ⛰️⛰️ a brilliant Ultra debut in 7:43:25 🤩

Sunday 41st, saw the latest running of the
Dunblane 12k Road Race, where Bruce Carmichael (43:38) was fourth overall, 2nd MV50🥈

Down at the Great Manchester Run Half Marathon on Sunday 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Jonathan Wieland "shaved" a mere 8min off his PB for a new one of 1:23:58 🤩 while Jamie Wieland took over 8mins off his Course Best, for a brilliant 1:27:16 😁 also running this one was Sandy Macdonald who finished in a great 1:36:32 👏

We've just had our AGM 📣 and we've got our President's Cup 5k 'handicap' race coming up very soon, with 85 Bellas signed-up so far 🏆 good luck to our members racing around the country this week including at the Killearn 10k & Roon The Toon 💜🤍🖤

It was a great opportunity to reflect on another successful year and celebrate everything we’ve achieved together. None of it would be possible without the incredible volunteers, members, supporters, and families who make our wee purple community so special.

On Thursday 21st May, it was the second race in the Babcock 10k Series at Dumbarton 🪨 460 starters on a rainy but decent night, with brilliant performances from our 25 strong Bella contingent 💜 special congratulations to Oscar Coetzee 2nd 33:10🥈 Paul McNairn 6th, 1st MV40 34:38🥇Bryan Mulgrew 10th 35:01 - 2nd Mens Team🥈🥳 Ann Robin 2nd FV40 40:10🥈 Ruth McKelvie 45:31, Claire Wharton 45:28 - 3rd Ladies Team🥉🥳 Al MacLachlan 2nd MV60 42:04🥈

On Sunday 24th, in the Cape Town Marathon 2026 🇿🇦 Colin Hughes ran an incredible PB 2:54:33 🤩 10th MV60, and looks like the 6th fastest MV60 marathon time by a British athlete so far this year 🇬🇧 the event was also the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Grade Championship with Colin ranking 9th ⭐️ expertly paced by Colin, with a mere 3s deviation (4:05 - 4:08 per km) and outstanding 87% age graded performance 👏

It was the Edinburgh Marathon Festival over the weekend, with Bellas running in the Marathon and HM on Sunday 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏰 a very warm day for it indeed 🥵 well done firstly to our marathoners, Alan Chalmers 3:30:41, Emma Peters PB 3:42:29 🤩 Babs Wilson PB 4:18:22 🤩 in the HM, brilliant running by Calum Borthwick 1:15:38, Lucy Prior 1:32:38, Laurence Prior 1:32:39, Jishnu Bhattacharya 1:34:17 👏

Friday 15th, saw the latest running of the iconic 'Black Rock 5' race in Kinghorn, Fife 🪨 1,200 starters, for the 7km race at low tide, allowing runners to pass behind the Black Rock, around 1km offshore from Burntisland 🏖 well done to David Pattison (32:17) in this one 😀

And it was back to Ayrshire on Saturday 16th, for the Queen's Park AC Goatfell Hill Race 🐐⛰️ 15.5 km with 870m of ascent, starting and finishing at the Ormidale Pavilion in Brodick 🏰 very well done to Cat MacDonald 1st lady 🏆🥳 & Ally MacDonald 2nd MV60🥈🥳

It was a brilliant start to Sunday 17th, for our amazing Poppy Bowie over on the Gold Coast 🇦🇺 taking 2nd female at the GC30 Main Beach Trail HM in 1:31:44 🥈🥳 and well done to Wallace Gray in running the Salzburg Half Marathon (1:55:34) with Louise Gray tackling the 10k (56:39) 🇦🇹

It was also the Cancer Research UK Race for Life 10k in Glasgow on Sunday morning 🩷 we had 3 pacers, Sarah McSharry 50min, Michael Walsh 50min & Sam Ramsay 60min 💜 and running were Jordan Davidson 35:34 1st place 🏆🥳 & Vitalija Zilinskaite 44:18 👏

Starting last week off on Wednesday 6th May, was the excellent Dumyat Hill Race on a fine evening at the Ochils ⛰️ one of our Off-Road Champs races 😎 well done to our pair of mountain goats Bryan Mulgrew 41:50 & Kenny McDonald 54:39 🐐👏

Saturday 10th started with the tough Westerlands Cross Country Club 7.8 mile, 3,150ft of ascent, Ben Lomond Hill Race, at Scotland's most southerly Munro, ⛰️ the amazing Cat MacDonald was the winning lady in 1:27:54 🏆🐐🥳 Cat retained her title from last year, and did so one second faster 🤩 and well done to Ally MacDonald, with a 1:37:35 finish for 2nd place MV60🥈and Callum Brown in 1:53:38 👏

Huge congratulations to Hannah Berry who ran THE LAP Clockwise 47 Mile Lake Windermere Ultra on Saturday 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 1,200 starters, so an outstanding effort by Hannah getting around in 8:31:16 to finish 10th overall, 1st lady 🏆🥳 an fantastic performance in her first ultra 🤩

Up in the north east, Ian Watt ran a brilliant 4:52:19 to finish 14th overall, 1st MV50🥇🥳 at the 50k Moray Coastal Trail Race on Saturday 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Down in a very hilly Yorkshire on Sunday ⛰️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in the Jane Tomlinson's Run For All Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon there was an outstanding PB run by Jordan Davidson to finish 13th in 2:44:39 🤩 meanwhile Ben Nurse also ran a brilliant PB 1:21:26 at the Half Marathon 🤩

Well done to Jonathan Wieland, who ran a great 1:03:04 to finish 3rd🥉🥳 at the Millport 10 Miler on Sunday 🏖 and well done to Debi Scott, 3rd FVet at the Bute Triathlon 🏊‍♀️🚵‍♀️🏃‍♀️🥉
