Mandarin Essential Oil

Mandarin Essential oil is extracted by cold expression, it may be yellow, green or red depending upon the country of origin, species or maturity.

Mandarin essential oil is calming, sweet smelling and rich in antioxidants, it is mild enough to be used on children ( diluted with a carrier oil )
Mandarin essential oil helps to neutralise free radicals and is useful for skin treatments and anti ageing therapy.
Mandarin essential oil mixes well with other citrus oils , florals and Camomile.

Camphor Essential Oil

Camphor Essential Oil is the oil extracted from the chipped wood branches and root stumps of the camphor tree and processed by steam distillation.

Camphor essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties and is often used in vapour rubs, liniment and balms
It can help ease inflammatory conditions and chest congestion.
It may help treat muscle aches and pains while stimulating circulation.
Camphor Essential oil blends well with Bergamot, Cardamon, Nutmeg and Thyme.

Star Anise Essential Oil

​​Star Anise Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the crushed seeds of the star anise plant, also known as Chinese Star Anise. This essential oil has a clear light to pale yellow colour with a characteristic potent aroma.

Star Anise essential oil has a fresh, sweet, and spicy, liquorice-like aroma. It is used for its carminative, digestive, stimulant ,expectorant and diuretic properties.
It helps bloating and is known to settle the stomach.
As it is an expectorant it can be used for the treatments of coughs and chest conditions.
This essential oil may be toxic to insects therefore its smell helps keep insects at bay.
It is used as fragrance in cosmetics and soaps and is used to flavour some foods and liquor.
Star Anise essential oil blends well with Cedarwood, Black Pepper, Pine and Sweet Orange.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender essential oil is produced by the steam distillation of the flowers and leaves of the plant

Lavender essential oil is one of the most useful essential oils as it has antioxidant, antimicrobial, sedative, calming and antidepressant properties.
It has been shown to improve mood and reduce stress and has been used for these properties for centuries.
It can help improve sleep quality and can be used topically to help cool and relieve the pain of small burns.It is often included in shampoos as it is said to increase hair growth.
Lavender however can cause asthma attacks and migraine headaches so be careful with its usage.
Lavender essential oil mixes well with Rosemary, Peppermint, Lemon And Frankincense.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea Tree Oil is produced by steam distillation of the leaves and branches of the Tea Tree bush. Once condensed,the clear to pale yellow oil is separated from the aqueous distillate.

Tea tree essential oil has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties, therefore working well with skin conditions. Tea tree oil is also used in mouthwash and deodorant as the antibacterial properties fight the bacteria that live in the mouth and underarm area, it is used in many cleaning products, shampoos and body washes.
Tea tree essential oil contains terpenes, making it a good insect repellent.
Tea tree essential oil mixes well with Lavender, Peppermint and Lemon.

Peppermint Essential Oil
Produced by the extraction of the oil from all parts of the plant, including flowers, bark, roots and stems.

Peppermint Essential Oil has both anti microbial properties which are shown by the fact that it can freshen our breath, and anti nausea properties as it is soothing to the gut relieving
colic and flatulence
It has been used for centuries to relieve headaches and relieves mental fatigue and depression, as it is refreshing and stimulating.
It aids concentration and has been shown to help with exam stress.
Peppermint Essential Oil mixes well with Rosemary, Tea Tree, Lavender and Lemon.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Eucalyptus essential oil is produced by the chopping of the leaves and stems of the eucalyptus plant.This is then placed in a distillation machine which pushes steam or water through the plant material.The oil and other components rise and are funnelled into a condenser, which cools the vapour to liquid, the oil floats on top and is syphoned off.
Eucalyptus essential oil is an expectorant and is therefore very useful to help break up chesty coughs. It is also a natural anti-inflammatory and antiseptic and helps reduce redness, swelling and promotes wound healing. Eucalyptus essential oil mixes well with Cedarwood, Lavender, Lemon and Rosemary.
