CRAIG MACFIE FOUNDATION (CMF)

Craig was tragically killed in November 2011 by a drunk driver whilst he was cycling in Oregon. The Craig Macfie Foundation serves as a means to honour, celebrate and remember Craig’s life while promoting causes close to his and his friends’ and family’s hearts. In keeping with Craig’s passion for skiing the primary focus of the foundation will be to promote and encourage the sport on both a local and national level. Craig gained a great deal from his involvement in ski racing; to reflect this passion the foundation will raise funds to help others experience such joy.

An award will be made to an LSR Trainee at the LSR CMF Classic every year in addition to supporting other local events. Furthermore, the foundation will aim to raise awareness against the dangers of drink driving and raise motorists' awareness of the rights of cyclists on the road. Entries to the main seeded race are invited to registered racers in all age categories from U14 to Masters. To encourage the development of young racers, we will run a separate minis race for U10 and U12 that will be set with stubbies.
