Last week we had a promotion for our kids Jiu-Jitsu team. Stripes and belts were awarded to a bunch of hard working kids.
Matthew, Coen and Daniel became the youngest kids to be awarded grey belts at the Griphouse. Huge achievement for the three of them.
Classes on every Wednesday 1800-1900 and Saturdays 1200-1300. If you have any questions or you're interested in more sessions outside of those times, send us a DM.

Are you a broken mess of a human? Do you want to be able to bolo like the young team, without your neck exploding? Would you like to be able to land a high kick without falling on your arse.
Well look no further than my patented/stolen mobility program. I have been a qualified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist for ages. I studied this system mainly to enhance my own training but now seems like a good time to add this into what we do at the Griphouse.
About a year and a bit back I posted on our BJJ Teams page talking about how wrecked I was and that id be rolling like a wuss for the forseeable. Anyhoo I prioritised the mobility stuff id previously only really played around with and was back rolling pretty quickly. After 20 years or so of competitive combat sports thats no joke.
So I am going to be throwing on a 30min mobility class on Tues and Thurs 8pm, after my BJJ All Levels classes, starting next week the 27th of June. Hopefully some of you guys can join me.
The first few weeks will focus on hips and spine, two of the more important areas that get wrecked by the ridiculous sports we do.
Come for the pain free joints, stay for the performance enhancements.
More head kick work, this time defending and returning with strong hands to the body. Way harder to get your body out the way than your head...🤘😃

On Sunday 28 May, four of our fighters competed in the Highland Warrior Challenge at Carmunnock Highland Games.
The Games included boxing, backhold wrestling and broadsword.
A big well done in particular to Sean, who won bronze in broadsword, and Chris, who came away with gold in light-weight boxing, silver in broadsword, and silver in the over-all rankings.
Stewart and Scott decided to also put themselves forward for the Hero in the community challenge, and participated in tug of war, roll the hay bale, caber pulling, and zorb fighting... Pics of this, and of the rest of the day to follow!
Big thanks to Vadim's warriors who participates against our guys too 💪
