Stonehouse Violet F.C. has Folded
To All Concerned
It is with deep regret and sadness that I have to announce that Stonehouse Violet F.C. has withdrawn from playing Scottish Junior Football and the club will fold with immediate effect.
A number of reasons brought about this very reluctant and sad but necessary committee decision. Over the last twenty months, I and the my small committee have worked extremely hard to put Stonehouse Violet back on the map; however during this time we have been unable to attract enough local support, enthusiasm or additional committee members to move the project forward and keep the club functioning effectively. We have also found that the financial support from local business and sponsors while in the first year was reasonable in the resurrection the second year has met again with poor enthusiasm and poor response, this resulted in Myself and other Committee members financially supporting the football club on a weekly basis which in its self was unsustainable in the long term.
I trust that you will therefore understand the reasons why we have reached this very reluctant but necessary decision.
We would like to thank all the Players, Officials, and everyone who tried to help make this project a success over the last twenty months and for the contributions that everyone made and we are extremely sorry that there has not been a more positive outcome.
