🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏆 SCOTTISH NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 🏆🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What a couple of weekends at the Scottish National Junior Championships! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎾

Newlands were represented by 18 players across all the age groups at Craiglockhart and Stirling, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate FOUR Scottish National Champions.

🏆 Carrie Kerr — U12 Girls

Winning a national title is a huge achievement and one that reflects far more than what happens on tournament day.

These results are a fantastic reflection of the hard work, commitment and consistency players are putting in week in, week out at the club.

Looking for something active, fun and tennis-filled this October half term?

Our October Indoor Tennis Camp is back! 🙌

📅 12–16 October
⏰ 9am–1pm each day
📍 Newlands LTC – Indoor Courts
🎾 P1 up to S2
👥 Members & non-members welcome

Players will be grouped by age and ability, with a mix of tennis, games, challenges and plenty of fun on court!

Whether your child already plays with us or is completely new to tennis, everyone is welcome.

Our Term 3 coaching programme starts from Monday 17th August, with sessions for all ages and abilities across our PRESCHOOL • CLUB • TEAM • COMPETE programmes.

Whether you’re starting your tennis journey, developing your game or getting ready to compete — there’s something for everyone.

Best of luck to Anna McKnight as she heads off to Cleveland, Ohio this weekend to start her tennis scholarship at Cleveland State Women’s Tennis.

And just like that… Summer Camps are officially finished! ☀️🎾

Six weeks of tennis, games, challenges, competitions, plenty of laughs and, most importantly, lots of fun on court!

A huge thank you to every player who joined us over the summer. It’s been brilliant seeing so many familiar faces and welcoming lots of new players too. 💜

And of course, a big thank you to all the parents for your continued support throughout the summer!

We hope everyone has had as much fun as we have. 🎾

🚨 TERM 3 PRE-SCHOOL BOOKINGS ARE NOW LIVE! 🚨

The countdown to Term 3 is on… and our Pre-School Tennis Programme is now open for bookings! 🎉

If you’re looking for a fun, active and engaging class for your little one, we’d love to welcome you onto the court.

Designed for children aged 2–5 years, our sessions help build confidence, coordination and a love of sport through exciting games and tennis-based activities.

👶 Parent & Child PAYG Classes (2–5 years)
🎾 Preschool Tennis (3–5 years)

Please note parents are required to stay for the sessions and will be asked to assist their child on court.

Week 5 has been another brilliant one at Summer Camps.

From first-time players picking up a racket to returning campers building on their skills each week, it’s been fantastic to watch so many young players learn, laugh and make memories on court this summer.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our camps over the past five weeks. Your support means so much to us.

Steel Tennis turns 10. 🎉

A whole decade!!!

Whether you’ve been with us since the very beginning or have only recently picked up a racket, thank you for trusting us to be part of your tennis journey.

It has been a busy ten years and we are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved on and off the court. The players who have grown in confidence, the teams we’ve been part of, the matches won, the trophies lifted and the goals achieved.

Most importantly though we have spent a decade watching kids grow up, seeing lifelong friendships formed, celebrating successes and bouncing back from disappointments together and becoming part of a community that feels like family. Being trusted to play a small part in so many people’s lives is something we’ll never take for granted.

Ten years ago we simply wanted an outlet to share our love of tennis. We could never have imagined where that would take us or the incredible people we’d meet along the way. Ten months in August 2016 would’ve been a success never mind ten years….

A thank you to everyone who has supported us this far - players, parents, coaches, Newlands and everyone else.

Here’s to celebrating the last 10 years… and to everything that’s still to come. 💜

Four weeks down… two to go! ☀️🎾

What a fantastic Week 4 of our Summer Camps!

It’s been brilliant watching players grow in confidence over the summer—learning new skills, making friends, challenging themselves and, most importantly, having fun every single day.

A huge thank you to all of the players and parents who continue to make our camps such an enjoyable place to be. The energy on court has been incredible, and our coaching team has loved every minute.

🎾 Week 5 starts tomorrow and we still have a few spaces available!

If your child would like to join us for a day or the full week, we’d love to see them on court before the summer holidays come to an end.
