Taking the 500 points on offer for Medal 10 this week is Charlie Gillen with a fantastic score of 66 (74). 👍👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️ Charlie’s round included 10 pars along with birdies at the tough 7th & 16th holes as he went out in 39 & returned in just 35 blows! After jumping 28 places, Charlie now positions himself just outside our top 8 in 13th overall! Superb Golf, mate! 👍👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️

We have a 3-way tie for 2nd place this week securing 208.3 Sandex points each for their efforts.👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Scott Orr 67 (75). Scott’s round included 11 pars along with a birdie at the par 5 16th as he went out in 40 & came home in just 35 shots! Scott now moves up 12 positions to 28th overall! Great Golf, mate! 👍👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Gary “Gizzy” Somerville 67(74). Gizzy’s round consisted of 14 pars and no birdies as he went out 37 & returned also in 37 shots. Bogeys at the last 2 holes may have cost him the top spot this week. 👀😬However, Gizzy now moves into the top 9 in that precarious 9th position after moving up from 16th place! Stunning golf, mate! 👍👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Tam” Tubbs” Martin 67 (67). Tam’s round included 11 pars along with 5 birdies at the 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th & 17th (magic 2 💰) holes as he went out in 35 & raced home in just 32 shots! Tam is starting to hit form at the right time and now moves up 6 places, to 17th overall! Outstanding golf mate! 👍👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️

In 5th place we have Scott Montgomery 68(72). Scott’s round consisted of 14 pars complemented with a nice birdie at the par 5, 16th hole as he went out in 39 & returned in just 33 blows! Scott has moved up to 25th overall! Brilliant Golf, mate! 👍👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Gents, it’s now the main business end of the season with just one medal remaining before we can confirm our nine Sandex finalists for 2026! It is officially, our tightest season ever, as anyone except the bottom five can still qualify for our final! 👀😬👌⛳️🏌️‍♂️And just to make our final qualifier of the season a little more interesting. It is a Sandex “major” with an incentive of 750 points to the outright winner! ⛳️🏌️‍♂️🎯💰💸

Looking at the current top nine, I would say, Franny, Kevin & Scotty are secure, well-done lads! 👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️💸💰🤩However, the other six places are most definitely up for grabs, as the spread from 4th place to 18th is just 250 points! 👀😬🫣🏌️‍♂️⛳️Plus, it’s your best 8 scores that count from our Sandex 13 medals, bringing added drama! This year we also have an additional incentive for the top nine as bonus Stableford points will be awarded to the top five depending on finishing positions with the Sandex regular season winner awarded 5 points & 2nd place 4 points on so on! 👀🎯💸 It’s going to be a crazy final day lol 👀🤩😂But, we will have to wait until the 5th of September before this regular season madness is concluded. 👀🫣😬😂⛳️🏌️‍♂️That gives us an extra week of preparation time in between the Sandyhill’s GC Member/guest this weekend! Another cracking low scoring weekend from our Sandex patrons this week.👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️🤩

Taking the 500 Sandex points on offer for 1st place was Gordon Davidson who recorded a stunning nett score of 63 (77). Gordons round included 9 pars along with birdies at the 9th & 12th as he went out in 39 and returned in just 38 blows. Gordon has stormed into the Sandex top 9 with a massive jump of 28 places to 4th overall and now looks to have secured a final 9 spot! Outstanding golf, Gordon! 👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️
In joint second taking 245 points each we have Paul Marshall with a brilliant round of 68 (71). Paul’s round included 14 pars with birdies at both the 5th & 11th holes as he went out in 37 and came home in just 34 blows. Paul moves up 8 spots to 13th overall and looks ready to pounce on our top 9 over the next 2 weeks. Brilliant golf, big chap! 👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️
Another week and another top 3 finish for Franny “Stricker” McLean, the man can do no wrong at the moment with a round of 68 (73). Franny’s round included 13 pars with a nice birdie at the 13th (magic 2) as he went out in 38 and returned in just 35! Franny now sits proudly at the top of our leaderboard with 2 events to go! He now has the target on his back! 👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️🤩🎯

Such was the superb scoring, we have 8 players with nett 69s adding 93.1 Sandex points to their respective totals this week…too many to go into detail with, so see below brief breakdown! 👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️

• Graeme Armstrong – 69 (77) – 11 pars – up 1 place to 17th overall!
• Colin” Tin Tin” Sharp – 69 (74) – Birdies at the 9th & 10th – down 1 place to 21st.
• Tam “Tubbs” Martin – 69 (69) – Birdies at the 4th, 9th & 12th holes – up 2 places to 23rd.
• Martin ”Strictly” McGread - 69 (77) – Birdie at the 11th – up 5 places to 26th.
• Scott “The Boost” McKenzie – 69 (76) – Birdies at the 4th, 8th & 13th (magic 2) holes – up 3 to 33rd overall!
• Jason O’Neill – 69 (79) – Birdies at the 13th (magic 2) – up 3 places to 37th.
• John Adams – 69 (83) – Birdie at the 8th – up 8 to 47th overall!

We now have just 2 Sandex qualifiers remaining before our Final on the 12th of September! As Gordon Davidson has proved this week, one decent medal score can still project you into that top coveted top 9! 👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Sharing the top spot with net 66s we have Robert Whiteford & Franny McLean who both take home a massive 575 Sandex points for their respective efforts last weekend! 👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️👍👏

Robert Whiteford’s brilliant round of 66 (81) consisted of 11 pars along with a nice birdie at the 2nd (magic 2) as he went out in 41 & returned in just 40! Robert rises 15 places to enter our top 9! Superb Golf, mate! 👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️👍👏

Franny’s round of 66 (72) included 13 pars along with birdies at the 2nd & 13th holes (2 x magic 2s 💸) as he went out in 37 and stormed home in just 35 shots! Franny’s 2nd Sandex win of this season, takes him up 13 places to 3rd overall! What a player! 🤩👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️👍👏

All alone in 3rd place taking 350 Sandex points is Scotty Mitchell who pulled out a majestic score of 68 (82) ! Scotty’s round included 5 pars and a birdie at the 11th as he went out in 44 and returned just 38 blows. Scotty consolidates his position in our top 9 at 2nd overall! Great Golf, mate! 🏌️‍♂️⛳️👍👏

WE have a trio in joint 4th place, all taking 300 Sandex points! Michael” Spencer” Tracey’s round of 69 (81) included 10 pars as he went out in 40 and returned in just 41 shots! Michael jumps up 12 places to 12th overall! Good shooting mate, no back 9 collapse this weekend! 😂🏌️‍♂️⛳️👍👏

Graeme Armstrongs round of 69 (77) included 9 pars along with a nice birdie at the 17th (magic 2) as Graeme went out in 40 a raced home in just 37 shots! Graeme moves up 15 places to 18th overall! Excellent Golf big chap! 🏌️‍♂️⛳️👍👏

Last but not least we have our Sandex admin guru Colin “Tin Tin” Sharp with a cracking 69 (74). Colin’s round consisted of 10 pars along with birdies at the 3rd & 10th holes as he went out in 37 and returned also in 37! Stunning round mate! 🏌️‍♂️⛳️👍👏

So, with just 3 rounds remaining in our 2026 Sandex season the top of the leaderboard looks pretty much dialled in! Our runaway Sandex leader Kevin McKenzie decided to have an away day with 2 rounds at the Calderbraes GC Club Championships over the weekend! 👀🏌️‍♂️⛳️👌And what has happened to early season leader Scott Kelly who has either fell off a cliff or is protecting his H/C and hopes he can still qualify from his current 7th position! 👀😬👍🏌️‍♂️⛳️There is still plenty of time to break into that final 9 with 1 major still to come!👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️🎯💸

Taking the 500 points on offer this week with a fantastic round of 67 (72) is Dougie Whitelaw! 👍🏌️‍♂️⛳️Dougie’s round included 11 pars with 3 birdies at the 6th, 13th (magic 2) and 16th holes as he went out in 35 & came home in 37! Dougie catapults himself up our Leaderboard from 39th to 11th overall! Cracking round big chap! 👍🏌️‍♂️⛳️

In joint 2nd place and just missing out on the top spot we have our current Sandex Leader Kevin McKenzie and Barry Wilson with brilliant net 68s. 👍🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Kevin’s round of 68 (72) included 9 pars with a nice birdie at the 16th as he went out in 39 & came home in just 38 blows! Kevin consolidates his position at number 1 and now looks to be “unassailable” in the pursuit to being the top seed in our final 9! Outstanding consistency, mate! 🤩👌👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️🎯💸 Barry Wilsons 👳🏻‍♂️ 68 (69) included 7 pars and a superb 6 birdies (3rd,4th,5th, 6th, 11th & 18th)that included a 4 birdie blitz from the 3rd to the 6th followed by another at the 11th & 18th holes as he went out in just 34 & returned in 35 blows! 🤩👌👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️Barry moves up 9 places to 14th overall! Stunning Golf mate! 🤩👌👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️

In joint 4th position we have Craig McIntyre with a 69 (74). Craig’s round included 5 pars and another with a birdie blitz at the 4th, 8th, 9th, 17th & 18th holes as he went out 38 and came home in just 36 blows! 🤩👌👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Craig moves up 7 places to 22nd overall! Great Golf Craig! 👌👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Another with a net 69 (77) was Charlie “Blondie” Gillen! 👀😬😂Charlie’s round included 9 pars along with a nice birdie at the 16th hole as he went out in 39 & returned in just 37 shots! Charlie jumps up to 40th overall! Brilliant golf mate! 👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Last but not least with a 69 (82) we have Scott McCready! Scott’s round included 8 pars along with birdies at the 1st & 6th holes as he went out in 41 & returned in 41! 👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️Scott’s round promised so much better though but a nightmare triple 7 at the 7th & a quadruple 8 at the 14th certainly robbed him of this week’s top spot lol 👀😬🫣😂! Unlucky mate ..Scott moves up to 47th overall! Great effort! 👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️

So! The top 9 is looking quite settled as no one from outside managed to break into our final 9! However, there is still time to change that and this weekend is the perfect opportunity as we have our 3rd major of the season for Greenkeepers Day! 750 Sandex points are available to the outright winner this weekend! Medal No:7 – Major 18th July 26,

Once again apologies for the late update.

Another cracking weekend at Royal Sandyhill’s and the quality of golf continues to rise as we get into the business end of our season!

Taking the 750 Sandex on offer this week with a stunning round of 64 (78) was Gary “Gasso” Weir! Gasso’s round included 6 pars along with 3 birdies at the 3rd, 8th & 17th (magic 2) holes as he went out 38 & returned in 40 blows! 👍🏌️‍♂️⛳️He also managed to throw in a double at the last to save that embarrassed look on his face in the clubhouse after his round lol👀😂👌 Gasso climbs 40 positions and now sits in 2nd place overall! Brilliant golf, mate! 👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️

Taking the 400 points for 2nd place this week is Kevin McKenziw with a cracking round of 68 (73)! Kevin’s card included 9 pars along with 3 birdies at the 1st, 11th, & 17th (magic 2) holes as he went out in 38 and raced home in just 35 shots! 👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️Kevin’s hard work and great golf over the last few months has now rewarded him into 1st place overall in our 2026 leaderboard! He is now the man to catch! Outstanding Golf Kevin! 👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️🎯

In 3rd place we have Sandex veteran Scott Montgomery with a superb round of 69 (73)! Scots round included 9 pars along with birdies at the 5th, 13th (magic 2) 14th & 16th holes as he went out in 37 & returned in just 36 blows! Scott even had time to throw in a triple bogey at the 15th hole, WTF lol 👀😂 Scott climbs 32 spots and now sits in 19th position overall! Brilliant Golf, mate! 👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️

Sharing the 3rd place spoils, we have Jimmy Lynch with a superb round of 69 (75). Jimmys round included 8 pars along with birdies at the 1st, 3rd & 17th (magic 2) holes as he went out in 36 and returned in 39 blows! Jimmy jumps up 31 positions to 27th overall! Excellent golf, mate! 👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️

We take another break this weekend before we get to our business end from the 1st of August onwards. As Gasso has proved all is not lost if you are sitting out with our top 9. There is still plenty of time including 2 further Sandex majors to catapult up the leaderboard into those coveted final positions! 👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️

It’s a welcome back after our SGC mid-season “hydration break “ due to the various Sandyhill’s Golf Club Championships. We returned our 2026 Sandex season at the weekend for Medal No:6!

Sharing the honour’s this week acquiring 400 Sandex points each were Scotty Mitchell & Barry McIntee with net 68s! 😊👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️

Scott’s 68 (82) included a 7pars and no birdies as he went out in 41 & came home again with another solid 41 shots! Scott moves up 11 places to 3rd overall! Great golf, Scotty! 😊👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Barry McIntee’s 68 (78) included 10 pars along with a magic 2 at the 2nd as he went out in 40 & returned in a respectable 38 blows! Barry moves up 42 places to 14th overall! Superb Golf mate! 😊👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️

We have 5 tied for 3rd place…

Shooting 70 (77) we have our Sandex statistician Kenny “The Magician” Houston. Kenny’s round consisted of 8 pars along with a birdie at the 4th and his obligatory eagle at the 16th as went out in 39 & returned in 38 blows! Kenny consolidates his place in our top 9, up 2 to 6th overall! Brilliant Golf mate! 😊👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️

Another taking the 125 points on offer for 3rd is Iain McMillan with a 70 (78)! Iain’s round included 9 pars with a birdie at 11 as he went out in 41 and returned in just 37 shots! Iain moves up 11 to 34th overall! Cracking round mate! 😊👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️

Last, but not least of our 3rd place ties is former Sandex winner Gerry “Who luvs Ya Baby” Innes! Gerrys round of 70 (80) included 9 pars as he went out in 40 and returned also in 40 shots! Gerry moves up 15 to 35th overall! Great golf, Gerry Bhoy! 😊👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️

Some great scores this week and the Sandex Leaderboard is beginning to take shape. However, Scott Kelly is still the man with a target on his back as he gave Sandyhill’s a miss this weekend for a round at Auchterarder – could that be an expensive mistake! Time will tell! 👀😬🏌️‍♂️⛳️💸🎯

The Forgie Qualifier 30th May!

What a superb low scoring weekend the Forgie produced on Saturday with 34 sub 70 (net) scores recorded at SGC! Tremendous golf and well done to all this year’s Forgie Qualifiers!👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️

However, taking the 500 Sandex points on offer this week with a stunning 64 (71) was Cammy Foy. Cammy’s scratch round of 71 included 10 pars along with birdies at the 7th, 9th, 11th & 16th holes as he went out in 38 and stormed home in just 32 blows! Cammy jumps 27 places to 5th overall! Brilliant golf, mate! 👏👌⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Just missing out on the top spot with an equally impressive round of 65 (80) was Sandex veteran Scott Mitchell. Scott’s round included 8 pars with a birdie at the 3rd as he went out in 41 & returned in 39 blows! Scott moves up 25 positions to 14th place! Cracking round mate! 👌⛳️🏌️‍♂️In 3rd equal position with net 66s we have Alan” The Hustler” McArthur & Andy Harley! Alan’s round of 66 (73) included 8 pars along with 4 consecutive birdies at the turn from the 8th, 9th, 10th & 11th! 👀🤩🎯Alan moves up to 11th overall! Stunning golf, mate! 👏😊⛳️🏌️‍♂️Andy Harley’s round 66 (75)f included 7 pars along with birdies at the 1st,6th 11th & 14th holes as he went out in 35 & returned in 40 blows which included a costly double at the last! 😬👀Brilliant golf, mate! 👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️A special mention to both Robert Woodmore & Craig McIntyre who both shot cracking net 68s. Robert now moves up to 25th & Craig climbs to 31st place respectively !👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Another superb scoring week for our Sandex patrons with multiple scores in the 60s!👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Our 1st Sandex major of this season was shared by Neil Gray & Gary Marchant who both shot stunning net 66s and will each take 575 Sandex points for their effort!👌⛳️🏌️‍♂️ Neil’s round of 66 (70) included 10 pars along with 4 birdies at the 5th, 8th, 9th & 16th holes as he went out in 35 and returned also in 35! Neil jumps up 15 places to 2nd overall! Superb golf mate! 👌⛳️🏌️‍♂️ Gary’s round of 66 (74) included 8 pars along with birdies at the 1st, 3rd & 11th holes as he went out in 37 and came home also in 37 blows! Gary shoots up 17 positions to 3rd overall! Different class, mate! 👌⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Cammy’s round included 8 pars with birdies at the 6th, 10th, 11th plus a stunning eagle at the 16th as he we out in 40 and returned in just 32 blows!🤩👌Cammy moves up to 9th place in our leaderboard! Deans cracking round 68 (94) included 3 pars and a respectable 9 bogeys as he went out in 48 and came home 46 blows! Dean moves up 35 places to 22nd overall! Andy moves up to 24th overall! Well played mate👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️Last but not least we have our new Sandex leader Kevin McKenzie with his 3rd sub net 70 round of this season with a cracking 69 (74)! This weekend it is our 1st Sandex Major of the season! 👌⛳️🏌️‍♂️The Gordon Goodall Memorial (Medal No:4) will be our 5th Sandex counter of this year but being a major there will be 750 Sandex points on offer for 1st place! 👀🤩⛳️🏌️‍♂️ Although, the Leaderboard is starting to take shape with a few notable players positioning themselves with good early season form, taking the 750 points on offer this weekend can propel you straight to the top instantly !👀👌⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Some absolutely outstanding Golf was on show from our Sandex patrons over as everyone seemed to be on a birdie blitz over the weekend!👏🎯⛳️🏌️‍♂️

In joint 1st position with stunning net 64s, we have David Bryans & Fraser Harris who both take 400 Sandex points this week !👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️

David Bryans brilliant 64 (70) included birdies at the 1st 2nd (magic 2) 3rd and 10th holes as he raced out in just 36 and returned with an impressive 34 shots!👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️ David moves up 52 places in our leaderboard to 6th overall ! Superb golf mate!👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Fraser Harris’s cracking round of 64 (71) included birdies at the 1st, 9th & 15th (magic 2) as he went out in 36 and returned in just 35 blows!👏⛳️🏌️‍♂️ Fraser jumps 11 places to 3rd overall – looks like all that hard work at Clydeway over the winter is starting to pay off mate!😊 Different class👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️

All alone in 3rd place we have Kevin McKenzie with a superb round of 66(72)!👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Kevin’s round included birdies at the tough 5th 14th & 16th holes as he went out in 37 and came home in just 35 shots! 👌⛳️🏌️‍♂️ Kevin consolidates his early form and moves in to 2nd overall! Great start to the season mate!👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️

Such is the quality on show this week we have multiple players taking the 108.8 Sandex points for finishing in 4th with net 67s!👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Former Sandex Champion Gary “Gizzy” Somerville is maintaining his early season form 67 (75) which included birdies at the 5th & 15th holes! 👏🏌️‍♂️⛳️Mr consistent, Jason Wedlock 67 (77) with birdies at the 4th, 11th & 12th holes! Superb Jason👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Out of nowhere with a stunning scratch round of 69 (67) is Martin “The Inferior” Friel with a round that included birdies at the 2nd, 11th, 14th & 16th holes !👌🏌️A bit of form at last ‍Martin 😂👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️ Last but not least we have Stevie Johnston 67 (79) with 10 pars and now jumps 35 places to 25th overall! Excellent golf mate!👌🏌️‍♂️⛳️

What a great standard we had this week with 10 players shooting net sub 70 scores. However, they are all chasing Scott Kelly who sits proudly at the top of our Sandex Leaderboard. It’s still early yet but you are the man they all have to catch!😊🎯🏌️‍♂️⛳️👌
