Saturday 9th May was Ladies Open Triples at Scotstounhill bowling club. We hope everyone enjoyed their day. Beaten semi finalists were Yarrow Bowling Club and Singer Bowling Club. Today marked the opening of season 2026/7 at Scotstounhill Bowling Club. There was a good turnout from both members and visiting clubs. President Jay Smith had his step mum Lesley open the green for the gents whilst Lady President Frances Farmer had great niece Bethany Smith open the green for the ladies. Best wishes for the season to all bowlers

Past President and Honorary Life Member Jimmy McDermid

It is with great sadness that we advise that Jimmy passed away earlier today.

Jimmy and his late wife Elma were great members and supporters of the club and could be relied upon to be at all the bowling and social events.

Jimmy was a man who was always on the go and never stopped trying to keep the surrounds of the club neat and tidy. He will be sadly missed.

Our thoughts are with Jimmy’s family at this time.

Today saw the closure of season 2025 for the members of Scotstounhill B.C.
Thanks to everyone behind the scenes who have contributed to another good season. Special thanks to members of both ladies and gents match and ties committees over the season and the the ladies centenary committee.

Presentation of prizes was held with images below of some of the prize winners and runners up. During the presentation there was poignant thought for members who should have been collecting prizes who have sadly passed away
