Choosing to work with a personal trainer isn’t just about improving your fitness. It’s about improving your entire quality of life. If you exercise properly, you’re healthier, you’ll sleep better, have more energy and less stress and will be able to perform better. I started my fitness journey from the very bottom. Timid, overweight and afraid, my parents pushed me to try out martial arts. My inst

Meet Elga 👸.

Elga once lost a significant amount of weight (~15kg) and has been struggling with body confidence for years. How she did this was by doing hours of cardio each day and eating very little, mostly vegetables. This took an incredible amount of effort and determination but it left Elga feeling burnt out and riddled with injuries. However, Elga lost the weight she wanted to despite putting her body through hell. 🔥

Elga came to me to see if there's a better, more sustainable way. Learning about nutrition and challenging some long held dietary beliefs has been tough at times. For example, skipping meals and using physical exercise as punishment to offset binge eating. Removing guilt, adding nutrients and finding a balance unique to Elga is what we've worked on. 💃

Now, Elga wouldn't think twice about enjoying some pizza or having a night out with some friends because her training and lifestyle is built around enjoying life.
Ditching hours of cardio for resistance training and surpassing feat of strength after feat of strength, true change is now visible in Elga's smile.🎉

This is the first time Elga has worn a dress in years. It's taken a long time to feel comfortable enough in her own skin; on the left Elga's trying to hide as much of her body as she can in 40 degree heat. Now, she's grown immeasurably in confidence and developed a new, sustainable lifestyle. Elga found her strength. Elga knows.🖤💪

Saturday morning off to a great start. Putting the Lean Ladies through their paces with a 12 min conditioning piece after a few sets of trying to kill them 🤷‍♂️ my favourite part of this was telling them what to do while drinking coffee from my sofa 💅🕺 have a blessed day 🦄🖤

John realising that I'm not always so nice to train with 🙋‍♂️

Here's some really kind words from the man himself after a few weeks of getting his mojo back and working on finding some joy in training again (which I swiftly murdered as pictured above 🌚)

"When Adam told me that our first goal was simply to help me enjoy the gym again, I knew I had made the right decision to train with him. I had been getting increasingly frustrated with my lack of progress towards my fitness goals and was seriously considering quitting the gym altogether, but within just a couple of sessions, Adam helped me regain my motivation, corrected many errors in my lifting form and before I knew it I was making rapid progress with my strength training.

I have been consistently impressed by Adam's knowledge of biomechanics, nutrition and the psychology of fitness and exercise, and have complete faith in all of the advice he shares. He has helped me improve my dietary habits, sleep hygiene and overall attitude towards fitness for the better, and even in the times when my motivation begins to fail, he always manages to get me promptly back on track thanks to his supportive, non-judgemental and empathetic attitude. He is always able to point out something positive, and reminds me of the progress that I've made but have perhaps lost sight of, and is never critical of me if I slip up.

Adam is a pleasure to train with during sessions - he gives very clear advice and his instructions are always easy to follow. He is very encouraging and never harsh or judgemental in his approach to correcting my form. He is friendly, easy to get along with and there are always plenty of laughs between sets. He has shown a genuine interest in getting to know me as a client and uses this information to come up with strategies to help me pursue my fitness goals more effectively.

If you are looking for a trainer who will really challenge you (but support you as he does so) and provide tailored, meaningful and truly useful advice for both the gym and beyond, you cannot go wrong with Adam."

The great and powerful Ballslammer is moving on to bigger and brighter things in the form of a PhD. She will leave a Kate sized hole in our hearts in Charing Cross.

It's been so wonderful to see both her mental and physical transformation over the time I've known her. Through some seriously hard work, and open mindset and unyielding positivity Kate is now fitter, stronger and more confident than ever. What a journey it's been. 🖤

Have a look over some pictures of Oor Kate's face. 🔥

"Fatigue makes cowards of us all."

I kept thinking of this quote as I pushed through this morning's conditioning. I would have been so easy to skip a few reps. Do less sets. The excuses will always be endless.🤦‍♂️

But I committed to doing awful finisher :
20 cals assault bike
10 goblet squats
10 reverse lunges
10 sit ups
X10.
It's everything I hate so it's a good opportunity to go to a very dark place and grow from it. ☠️

Getting comfortable in routine is a trap. Delving into the depths of despair is the only way you can have a true glimpse of what is real and shed the illusory safety of your fiction created to salve fragile egos.

In short I did a bit of work for a change and had a mild existential crisis. 🤣

Take anything you will from this but maybe for once take stock of yourselves and don't back down. As the powerful says "When your mind is telling you that you're done, that you're exhausted, that you cannot possibly go any further, you're only actually 40% done."

Last week of high defecit deadlifts. Felt pretty smooth, will miss these lads as I move on in my training. 😎

Remember to spice up your training occasionally and try new s**t. 🌶️

Don't be a gobs**te and stick to your comfort zones for too long. Growth only happens when you're uncomfortable 🦄

Have a bold and wonderful week ☝️🙋‍♂️

Here's a little kettlebell routine I've been playing around with recently. It's called the ladders and rungs workout, inspired by the main lad Pavel Tsatsouline. It's clean & presses on each side followed by pull-ups. 🙊

Starting with 1 clean & press on each side then do a pull up. Then 2 clean & presses per side and 2 pull-ups. Keep going until you get to 5 on each side and 5 pull-ups. 🤯

Deceptively simple(definitely not easy), you get a great whole body workout with a focus on making your back less feeble making you more difficult to kill 🧟

You only need a kettlebell and a pull-up bar (or a lat pulldown machine if you're not there yet) to get this in so you could do it at home if you're feeling spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Hope your weekend is as lit as this workout 🦹

Stay golden 🦄🦗🏴‍☠️

The terror getting some practice in on her clean and jerks. 🏋🏽‍♀️

This progression is a hang power clean, front squat and power squat jerk (can I get a Powa and an AMEN from my brothers and sisters in the audience?)🔥🔥🔥

This is a pretty decent drill to start with to progress to the full clean and jerk. It has two elements of triple extension and a full depth front squat. Breaking down the full movements into it's individual components is a great way to learn a new skill. 👍

Keep chasing the dream, practice new things and stay golden 🦄

No. 🍆
Just got this in an email from . just a bit of clickbait, standard stuff. 💡

Juice cleanses, detoxes, fit teas, magic weight loss pills and other fairy tale products will not work long term.😗

What will work if you think you need a "cleanse" or a detox is to stop eating and drinking all the s**te you already know you shouldn't be consuming so abundantly. 🐷

If your goal is to lose some body fat and you think a fit tea or some other magic fairy dust is going to remedy the situation, you're deluded. A calorie defecit and finding a mode of moving your body to stay active EVERY DAY is what will sort your life out. 🦄

Starting a journey for better fitness and health is daunting and this is why bulls**t products like this exist. To prey on those who flounder over the first step.👹

To sustainably chase greater fitness, incremental improvements need to be made and good habits need to be formed. This takes time and will power and that's in short supply due to stress from work/ partner/ family/ whatever your unique situation is. 🍍

The first step however is to start. Get your arse in gear. If you read this because you're interested in if you need a juice cleanse or not, start by cutting out junk food today. Double down on protein portions in your meals (more meat and fish) and eat some more fresh vegetables. If you're hungry an hour after a meal, you didn't eat enough protein. 🙊

Cut out the s**t, move more and hit me up if you get stuck.

Stay golden, I believe in you 🦄🍍🍆💖

Some low bar squats this morning, 5x8 @ 112.5 kgs building some momentum.
Followed this with some front squats and some hamstring work.🏋🏽‍♀️
Lost faith in myself to hit a PR on deadlifts due to time off training and life getting in the so I'll chalk up deadcember as a great time to help improve my deadlift form and to try a new challenge. Mindset is everything in strength training. If you don't think you're going to lift the weight there's a very good chance you won't.👌
Since my craic is to get stronger and enjoy training I'm grand with jumping straight in to a new training program.☝️
There's a good chance I may regret skipping the deadlift attempt so I might try it later as I build up training momentum (and probably f**k up the progress of this program lol) 🤣
Let me know if you think these shorts are outrageous 🍆🔥🍑🌶
