Drymen Scouts and Cubs is a fantastic place for kids to have new experiences and make new friends. Boys and Girls between 8 and 14 are all welcome.

We are also looking for volunteers to help support our activities, so if you're interested in helping out please let us know. You can get in touch at [email protected]. You're not committed to coming along every week - any help is gratefully received!

Tuesday 25 August 9.30am - 10.45am, Drymen Village Hall

Come along with curiosity and an open heart and explore the body-mind connection. Practice accessible postures, subtle breathwork, and contemplative meditation grounded in the roots of the yoga traditions. Expect an energising, embodied and relaxing experience - open to all levels and all bodies.

Our secretary has been very busy over the summer, and once again, she's compiled an excellent programme of illustrated talks for the society.

All talks begin at 7.30pm within Drymen Village Hall on Main Street, Drymen. Membership is still only £12 per person for all 7 talks, or £5 per person for visitors to individual talks.

24 September 2026 Murray Pittock. Scotland: the global history, 1603 to the present. On Scotland's global reach.

22 October Denis Kearns on The Maid of the Loch, where he is a volunteer.

26 November Drymen and Buchanan in old photographs: slide show presented by myself and Peter Smith.

28 January 2027 Marc Conaghan. Target Clydeside: bombing raids by the Luftwaffe in World War II.

25 February Hugh Sutherland of the Strathendrick Classic Car Club will give us a talk on Old Scottish cars.

25 March Anne Gilchrist on the history of schools in the Drymen area.

22 April Cheese and wine reception at 7 pm, then we are showing a DVD of the Millennium service on Inchcailloch, with children's pageant and barbecue on the beach, all beautifully filmed by Allan Armstrong.

Yoga practices next week to focus on strengthening and releasing tension in the hips.
