Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight for the first parade night of the year.
See you from 7.30 and remember your consent forms 😀
Hi all, after a great summer it's time to restart BB. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back for enrollment this Friday at 8pm in the Church halls, with first full night on 9th September. Information packs are in the process of being dispatched, and we have emailed everyone that has provided an address to date. Anyone who would like to have the information pack electronically please drop us an email at [email protected].
See you on Friday.
Hi all. We hope that everyone is well, and enjoying being back at school with friends. Apologies for being so quiet recently. Like everyone over the last 18 months, we have had our own challenges to deal with, meaning that we have not been able to devote any time to planning Zoom catch ups or outdoor meetings.
You will be pleased to hear, however, that we have started preparations for the restart of our Friday nights.
We are looking to restart our Friday nights in January 2022, so look out for letters around the beginning of December.
Any questions before then, please drop us a PM or email us at [email protected]
Hi all, firstly, We hope you are all well.
We appreciate that it has been a difficult time for everyone, whether you are a boy or parent. We know that as schools have now returned there will be an expectation that BB will follow soon. As much as we would like this to happen, there are a number of issues that currently prevent us from having our Friday night gatherings.
Looking at the normal activities we do on a Friday night, most of them do not meet the current social distancing guidelines. The staff have been in discussions over the last couple weeks to work out how and when we can restart. Unfortunately the recent introduction of the local lockdown in Glasgow will delay the restart of BB further.
We will also need to discuss the restart with the Church, as there may be new procedures that we will be required to adhere to.
As soon as things change we will let everyone know.
The Company Section Staff
Given the latest update from the government, we have been advised by Battalion HQ to suspend all BB meetings and activities with immediate effect.
Twitter will be updated and emails will also be sent to everyone who has provided us with an email address.
Please pass this information.
We will continue to provide updates as we get them but until we meet again - stay safe.
Coronavirus: Managing the Risk
Boys’ Brigade UK have updated the advice as follows:
We’re currently monitoring the situation with the outbreak of the Coronavirus across the UK and keeping up to date with advice issued by UK Government and other relevant authorities.
To help keep young people and leaders safe we would encourage groups to share and adhere to the following advice:
* stay at home for 7 days if you have either a high temperature or a new, continuous cough. You should not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital, and you do not need to contact 111 to tell them you’re staying at home.
* carry and use tissues to catch coughs/sneezes, bin the tissue and wash hands.
* regularly wash hands with soap and water (for 20 seconds) or use alcohol based sanitiser gel to kill germs.
* avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
* clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
There is presently no advice to suggest that BB meetings or events should be cancelled, however where educational establishments (i.e. schools/colleges) are closed due to the Coronavirus outbreak in the catchment of your local BB Company or where the government closes educational establishments either nationally or in specific parts of the country, all BB activities in the respective areas will be cancelled.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide any updates we receive.
See you all tonight.
Just a reminder that it is the Christian Education exam tonight. 7.30 start, no uniform.
09/12/2019
Copy of letter handed out to the boys on Friday night which gives details for the Festive season. This Friday (13th) is the Christmas Games Night, starting at 7.30pm, no uniform or levy required.
Just a reminder that tonight we do not have access to the halls due to the Church bazaar tomorrow, so we are off to the ice skating at East Kilbride. All boys going should be down at the Church for 7.25 to allow us to leave sharp at 7.30. Price is £8. See you all then.
Just to remind everyone that with the school October holiday next week, BB will be cancelled on Friday 11th and 18th October.
Enjoy you holiday from school and we will see you all back at BB on the 25th October.
