Two Glasgow Disability tennis members qualified for the Play Your Way To Wimbledon Finals held at the Old England Club a few weeks ago. Please read their stories below.🎾

Aidan Moody - Learning Disability - Winner

This was my third time competing in the 'Play Your way to Wimbledon' finals and it was certainly third time lucky for me! I was absolutely delighted to win the tournament and be crowned champion. It was a great tournament with lots of competitive matches and ended in a hard fought final. I got off to a slow start losing the first set 6-2, however I was determined to keep fighting and in the second set I raised my level and played much more aggressively. I won the 2nd set 6-4 and then won the match tiebreak 10-8. It was an amazing moment when I won, I was over the moon I was champion and I was so proud I had beaten the no1 seed.
Olly is a great player and this was only the 2nd time I had managed to beat him in a competitive match.
It is always a privilege to play on the grass at Wimbledon. It really is a special place! I love walking around the grounds, everyone is so welcoming and there is a great atmosphere.
This year the LD players got a special treat. Wimbledon's head coach, Dan Bloxham, watched some of our final and then decided to give us a personal tour of the members' club. He showed us around the clubhouse, we saw the trophies, we entered centre court through the players' entrance, and we got to do the 'walk of champions' - I'll never forget doing that walk with my trophy!

Andrea Logan - Visually Impaired - Runner Up

Play your way to Wimbledon was a great opportunity and a memorable experience. The visually impaired tennis community appreciate the recognition of their dedication to grow visually impaired tennis.
The skill level this year in all the finals was much incredible. I was delighted to take 2nd place.
