Disappointing news for the Walkway. Hopefully the council can get this sorted.
The Clyde Walkway is closed between Poplar Glen and Milton Lockhart for safety reasons until further notice due to a number of unsafe structures. Access should not be attempted. There is no off-road diversion available.

We're very disappointed, but already working towards 2025. We're very eager to get this iconic Scottish ultra back on the calendar.
Disappointed to say the least, but here we are again.π
There will be no Clyde Stride in 2024. π
Spinning the plates of multiple permissions is difficult for this. With some approved, others suggested alternatives, and some still pending, we just haven't managed a date that suits all the parties.
With two years without managing to secure a date, we're exploring options to change the calendar spot next year in a hope to find a suitable date for all partners, and our full time work commitments.
Thanks in advance for your understanding.

A wee update. Sorry for the radio silence. We've been working hard behind the scenes.
CLYDESTRIDE UPDATE
With Easter on the doorstep, and two weeks off the day job, we're going to use the time for a last ditch attempt to push the relevant parties from whom we require permission to put on the event.
If we get to the end of the school holiday and we're unable to obtain the confirmations required from various parties, we'll have to unfortunately cancel this year's planned event.
We're finding (and from chat with other events organisers, others too) it increasingly difficult to obtain permissions for events. That's the case with even our small events which involve just one authority. With something like Clydestride, with multiple local authorities, charities and private land holders, the difficulties are multiplied.
Fingers crossed and we hope to get back to you soon with positive news. π€π€π€

Sorry folks....ππ
Disappointingly, Clyde Stride 23 will not take place.
With all the pieces in the jigsaw not yet in place, we're unable to open entries. We've been trying quietly to get everything together but without all the necessary permissions yet in place, it leaves us with little choice.
We appreciate the amount of time, effort and planning it also takes you as participants as well, and wanted to allow you as much notice as possible to make alternative summer race plans.
We'll press on for CS24, and you can pencil in 20th July 2024.
Happy running....

Good job the race isn't on just now!!
But I'm sure it will help for next year when they finish the works.

From 5k to 60k....what a journey.
What an absolute inspiration! Recent Clyde Stride Ultra Marathon finisher Gail has had a much longer journey than just the 60km race to get to the finish line!
Glad it was the finish that give her a buzz and not that fence!
