Our gents 1s had a winning start to their 2026/27 hockey season yesterday

We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to the club today for the formal opening of the courts!

12:00-12:15 *Official Opening*
Come join us as we open the courts officially with special invited guests, sponsors and anyone else who wants to come.

12:15-13:00 *Cardio tennis*
Arrans cardio tennis is always popular and is running a special one off cardio he’s got planned just for the open day!

13:00-14:30 *Dans tiebreak tournament*
No experience needed, we can also provide rackets if needed. Fun and fast fire. Sign up with Dan by 12:45 to take part! All levels welcome.

13:00-15:00 *Have a hit*
Come give it a go, Arran and Hugh are around to hit some balls, give some tips and generally help out. Again non members and inexperienced players are more than welcome

14:30-16:00 *Exhibition tennis*
ATP Pro and Scottish Number 2 Hamish Stewart will be showing us how to fully make use of our new courts - playing some exhibition tennis alongside head coach Dan, one of the clubs top juniors Giancarlo and the clubs very best in Callum McGinn. Courts 4-6 will also be available to do your best impression of Hamish if you want to go have a hit yourself.

Hockey league season 26/27 gets underway this weekend.

The gents 1s kick off their league season away to Kelburne and the ladies 2s have a friendly. 🏑

It's another busy weekend ahead at the club.

Drum roll please - Juro is making a special appearance for our tennis court reopening on Saturday. There are some firm favourites on the menu - shawarma, burger, lasagne, vegetable lasagne, chilli and nuggets 😋 get down quickly before he runs out.

Nina and Emma come through as the Southsides best 14U doubles pair banking points for Giffnock at the champions in the Southside Interclub Championships. Well done girls!

Our monthly Quiz Night, hosted by the fabulous The Quiz Inquisitor, is this Friday. Always a great night. Arrange a team with friends.

Remember to bring cash for entry (£2 per team member) and Play Your Cards Right.

Happy to confirm that we have opened the new courts this afternoon. We will close them again tomorrow until early afternoon to allow the contractor to tidy up.

Video guides for basic maintenance such as line brushing and and the use of drag mats will be shared as soon as possible.
