🚨Parklife Round 1🚨
Thanks everyone who came along last week. Great to see so many returning faces each year and plenty of new ones also.
Results: yes to be honest I actually totally forgot about them over the weekend and only remembered this morning I hadn’t went through and pulled them all together.
I’ll get them done over the next couple of days….
Entry still open for next week also.

Parklife Update
Afternoon all,
I have had loads of issues with the new BC system update which has prevented me from getting the necessary document and submissions done for this years Parklife.
BC called yesterday and finally fixed my access.
I have just submitted the documents for 2 x Parklife races this year. The first should have been next week but there is next to no chance of pulling that off.
The first race will be the 28th May and then the second on the 11th June. Same as always format nothing fancy.
I am hoping entries can go in from Monday. I will be pushing BC to accept the entry today tomorrow to give us a chance over the next three weeks to get the numbers in.
In true Parklife style, all the entries come in the last few weeks anyway so it should be all good.
For returning racers hopefully we see you back on the start line, for new racers ask your friends who have been before.
I guarantee they tell you it is a blast. So looking forward to seeing lots of new faces also.
Once the races have been approved I will post the links for everyone to sign up.
Thank Riderz Team

Cathkin Container gets Artistic Overhaul by Cheryl Galbraith!
The Cathkin Glasgow Riderz container which was previously a plain blue eyesore had a fantastic artistic overhaul by local paisley-based artist Cheryl Galbraith. A big thank you goes out to Cheryl from the club as she battled through the Scottish elements for us over a number of days to get it finished. The kids (and parents!) have loved it and really helps the container act as an attractive activity hub for different sessions, events and races. The local community loves it too!
Cheryls art ranges across the board from large Graffiti style with animal and nature themes to canvas and prints with really striking graphics and colours. You can check out the unique and encapsulating style at www.cherylgalbraith.art and can follow her Facebook and latest projects Cheryl Galbraith Art.
Again, a massive thank you Cheryl from Glasgow Riderz and hope to see you in the future!

WE NEED YOU!
Volunteerz Needed Young Gunz Sunday 15th March 2026
You don’t need to be a regular cycling club volunteer to help out.
You don’t even need to have volunteered at a bike race or event before as training will be given on the day.
If you have your rider signed up, please please, please think about helping out for the couple of hours you will be there with them.
We’re looking for help with course building, sign-on, marshaling and lap counting. We do have timing but it’s always good to have back-up! ⏱️
We'll feed and water you, provide rather fetching hi-viz, and if we can persuade the Head Marshal to share the toys, you might even get a radio or whistle. 🦺

Congratulations Jack!
Jack Carlin received the Badge of Honour, the highest honour the governing body bestows, at Saturday evening's Scottish Cycling Awards.
Jack started his cycling career with Riderz before achieving success nationally and internationally as a track cyclist in both keirin and sprint. Jack represented both Scotland and Great Britain racing at World Cups, European and World Championships as well as Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
Jack's palmarès is too long to list, but we can't let slide that he has won, not one, or two but four Olympic medals!
You continue to inspire Riderz members, young and the not so young, with your cycling achievements. Thank you for all you have done, and continue to do, for the club.
Well done Jack you deserve this honour.

Andrew’s having an amazing weekend!
Last night Andrew received the Scottish Cycling Young Coach of the Year award for his work with Riderz youth mountain bike section.
To receive one award acknowledging what we already knew is fantastic, to receive two on consecutive evenings means the rest of the community know. Truly phenomenal!
Well done Andrew you deserve it!
*UPDATE* Who more appropriate to present Andrew with his award than Riderz own Olympian Jack Carlin? 😍

*Keen eyed Riderz will note BMX Coach Stevie also won a well deserved award for his work with Western Titans!
