Phew! Last weekend saw a nail-biting 21-20 away win for our ladies Troon Vikings over EK82 in the Scottish Handball League! We led 11-7 at halftime but had to battle back after EK briefly took the lead at 17-16—before a clutch penalty save sealed the win. A fantastic team effort with goals from across the squad made the difference! Well played, EK82, for an intense and competitive match!
Let's do it again this weekend 🤾‍♀️💪

Last weekend was a hard-fought battle, which Glasgow put on an impressive display against Livingston. Down 11-8 at halftime, the team rallied to level the score at 14-14 in the second half, but fatigue kicked in, and a few small errors allowed Livingston to take the lead, ending the game at 22-18.
Philipp was a defensive powerhouse, showing incredible reflexes and making numerous saves to fend off Livingston’s fast breaks. His efforts were a critical factor in keeping Glasgow in the game and limiting the scoring opportunities for the opposition. Jorge, Fran, and Mo showcased excellent teamwork and vision on the court, consistently finding open space and creating scoring opportunities. Their attacking play kept Livingston’s defence on its toes and was crucial to Glasgow's mid-game comeback
The entire team displayed one of their best defensive performances of the season, working together. Despite the result, the team left it all on the court and showed the kind of teamwork and grit that promises an exciting season ahead. Proud of this performance! 💪

In a challenging match, Glasgow fought hard but ultimately fell to Kelvinside, who took control in the second half. Every Glasgow player managed to score, with Mous leading as the top scorer, showing determination and skill on the court.

Philipp was outstanding in goal, making numerous critical saves and stopping several fast breaks to keep Glasgow in the game. Mo and Jorge provided some sharp wing play, creating space with precise cross passes and setting up solid scoring chances.

Another step forward for our ladies, showing determination and improvement in our latest match. Despite a tough 7-29 result against Edinburgh, the effort was clear with Sandra Christe-Lamb leading our scoring, backed by Christie McDonald, Eilidh McDonald, and Charlotte Crossland. Goalkeeper Andrea King delivered a standout performance, including a penalty save, earning her player of the match once again! 🙌💪

Last Saturday saw a tough game for Glasgow Handball Club as they faced a strong Tryst 77 team at Hutchie. The final score stood at 45-18 in favor of Tryst, but Glasgow showed immense spirit and determination throughout the match.

At halftime, the score was 23-9, with Glasgow already facing challenges. Despite having only 8 players, they were down to 6 in the second half due to an ankle injury and a red card for a harsh defense. Jorge stood out with a brilliantly executed 7-meter throw, scoring Glasgow's last goal of the first half.

In the second half, the team battled on with just 6 players, displaying resilience and teamwork. The defense tightened, and in the last 10 minutes, Glasgow managed to score 5 goals, finishing the game strong.

Shoutout to our goalkeeper, Philipp, who was absolutely on fire! He saved 16 shots, including 4 near-impossible saves, earning him the Player of the Match award, even from the opposing team.

We’re relieved to report that our injured player didn’t break his ankle but will be out for a few weeks. Wishing him a speedy recovery! 💪
