It's the United Nations 'World Bike Day' today.
World Bicycle Day draws attention to the benefits of using the bicycle β a simple, affordable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation. The bicycle contributes to cleaner air and less congestion and makes education, health care and other social services more accessible to the most vulnerable populations.
It's for these reasons Bike for Good volunteers such as Linsay here, pedalled on parliament last week to demand that the bicycle is seen as an integral part of Scotland's future transport visions.

After 15 incredible years, our Founder & CEO Greg Kinsman Chauvet has stepped down from Bike for Good, with new CEO Alberta Gutteridge stepping into the role following a year as Interim CEO! π²π
From a small stall in the Barras Market with a handful of donated bikes and volunteers, Greg helped grow Bike for Good into the organisation it is today: refurbishing tens of thousands of bikes, delivering cycling lessons across Glasgow, introducing Cytech training to Scotland, and helping more people experience the benefits of cycling.
His energy, humour, and dedication have shaped Bike for Good from day one, and his impact on our staff, volunteers, customers, and wider community will be long lasting.
Gregβs next adventure? Launching a not-for-profit wine cooperative supporting independent winemakers around the world π· follow Vivan Coop to find out more!
