Bengal Lancers would like to extend our appreciation, respect and our well wishes to David Ampleford, formerly of Third Lanark, after his recent decision to leave football management to pursue his non footballing career goals.

David has ran Third Lanark for 10+ years, something I have found rare in modern times. He has managed a number of transitions over the years, overseeing amazing times but also some hard times. Despite all of that, he has kept driving the club and himself forward

David has nothing but mine/our respect. Not just a great football man but also a great human, and everyone who has been in contact with David appreciates him for just that.

Having been involved with Lancers for 14 years, I really can't imagine just how hard a decision like that must have been, and emotional yesterday and the proceeding days and weeks will be for you.

David, from all at Lancers, and let's be honest, the full amateur family, you're a wonderful man and we wish you and family all the best.

Football will miss you as much as you are going to miss it.

Massive thank you to Carntyne MOT Station for our new match day wear.

Absolutely delighted with these bad boys, and really appreciate the support.

For all your car maintenance and M.O.T needs, you can't go wrong using these guys.
(Been using Michael Kayes for 8+ years, way before this seasons support and can't speak highly enough).

You can find Michael and his team at:

Just reference the team and you'll be in good hands.

Live in Glasgow? Fancy a pint? It's so close to reopening time they we can almost taste it.

Old School House, Glasgow has had an outdoor face-lift and has some limited availability for next week.

Look forward to getting back to the important business of post match pints.

What an achievement for our very own beloved Aidan Diamond.

What this man has done to turn his life right around is nothing short of phenomenal and shows anyone in the same position, or even carrying less weight, that it can be done and there really is no excuse.

I can't express how proud myself and the team are of Aidan's achievements.

Please check out his PT sessions with Diamond Cut Training.

The work on his own body speaks for themselves.

Glasgow man loses eight stone and becomes a PT in amazing weight loss journey Aidan Diamond from Blackhill lost a whopping eight stone in the last two years, and during lockdown actually managed to qualify as a personal trainer.

With restrictions slowly lifting, Bengal Lancers are making their return to training tomorrow morning on what we hope are the first steps in getting our beautiful game back into our lives.

With many players struggling with mental health or perhaps physically, I'm sure there are some nervous players worrying about the worst tomorrow (all over the city/country).

Worry they need not. Lancers are more than just a football team and the quicker football returns and the boys get to be in one another's company, the more this will be remembered. As soon as they hear the sounds of familiar voices, those balls touching their feet, and they know they're not getting ran into the ground tomorrow just because "thats whit ye dae", the sooner we can all fall in love all over again with the game we adore.

Whatever is thrown at us, whatever challenges we face in the near future with our players or external to the club, we are ready, willing and able to over come, because this has been a long time coming!

If you're interested in joining a team in the top tier of what is easily Glasgows best Saturday Morning league, please get in touch via the page.

And to our current players; welcome back boys, canny wait to watch yous boot yellow balls about grass and astro pitches trying to score goals, can't imagine any other way I'd like to spend my Saturdays.

On Saturday Bengal Lancers say good bye to its longest standing player, Callum Watson aka Kaiser, as he embarks in a new life in Berlin.

This photo epitomizes Kaiser. It's a photo of the full team. There has been no one in the history of the Lancers who has put the team above himself so consistently over the last 11 years than Kaiser. That is not to downplay anyone elses achievements or effort here - it merely highlights just how selfless and important Kaiser was in the history of the club.

Kaiser and myself joined around about the same time. It's only when I stop and look back do I realise just how many hours I would have spent with him on and off a park. I guess you take for granted the bond you build over such an amount of time. Kaiser is one of the most loyal, kind, articulate and selfless people you could ever hope to meet. There isn't a Lancer that lives who doesn't hold him in the highest regard and as a man and a player he will be missed.

Kaiser, we love you brother. An absolute Lancer hall of famer and just a beautiful human being.
We wish you all the best. I'll miss you, we all will.

Xx
