Every woman with endometriosis has a different story. This is one of them ๐Ÿ’›

Anne was preparing for her fourth laparoscopy before deciding to learn how to better understand and manage her Endo symptoms.

This is her experience inside the Strong Endo Warrior Method.

Even with surgery and/or medical management you have to work on your lifestyle factors.

This is key to managing endometriosis, understanding your symptoms and reducing your flare ups so you can take back control and live the life you want to live.

Comment STRONG if youโ€™re fed up living in constant flare-ups and want to do something about it ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ

Should women with endometriosis deadlift?

One of the biggest myths I hear is that women with endometriosis should avoid deadlifting.

The truth? For many women, deadlifts are completely appropriate.

Notice I said many women, not every woman.

Itโ€™s about learning if deadlifts are right for your body, how to build up to them safely, and recognising when itโ€™s time to take a step back or adapt the movement.

You canโ€™t dive straight in.

Thatโ€™s a hard no from me.

Start with bodyweight movements, master the movement pattern, then gradually build strength over time before adding load.

I spent around 6 years learning how to use my core and breathe properly to avoid aggravating my pelvic pain.

During that time I focused on Pilates style movement to built glutes and core.

Only when I had no pain did I start to build up deadlifts.

I started with an 8kg kettlebell. Then 2, then heavier dumbbells before reaching for the barbell.

And finally after 8 years of hard work I deadlifted 95kg for 5 reps.

The most important thing is learning how to move in a way that works with your endo body, not against it.

Deadlifts are one of the most functional exercises you can do. Every time you pick up shopping bags, lift your child, move a suitcase or carry the dog food, youโ€™re performing a deadlift so I highly recommend them.

Learning to deadlift well helps build strength through your glutes, hamstrings, back and core, giving you confidence in what your body is capable of.

The scales donโ€™t tell the whole story.

They tell one tiny part of it.

This morning, one of my Warrior Chic clients said stepping on the scales made her feel fat.

So I asked her one question:

โ€œDo you genuinely believe youโ€™ve gained X amount in body fat overnight?โ€

The answer was no.

She knew it could be water retention.
She knew it could be hormones.
She knew it could be DOMS.
She knew it could be inflammation.

But years of diet culture had taught her that a higher number meant sheโ€™d failed and was fat.

The problem isnโ€™t the scales.

Itโ€™s the meaning weโ€™ve attached to them, over the years.

If one number has the power to ruin your day, itโ€™s time to stop giving it so much power.

Measure your strength.
Measure your fitness.
Measure your daily habits.
Measure your confidence.
Measure your energy.
Measure how your clothes fit.
Measure how capable youโ€™ve become.

Because thatโ€™s where real progress lives.

Tell me honestlyโ€ฆ have the scales ever changed your mood for the entire day?

โ€œI feel like Iโ€™ve always been here.โ€

Juneโ€™s words when I asked her when she joined the Warrior Chics.

That one sentence says everything.

(FYIโ€ฆ she joined right at the beginning when Warrior Chic was created in 2019.)

She is 68 years of age.

She squats her bodyweight.

She deadlifts 1.5x her bodyweight.

She benches.

She runs marathons.

Sheโ€™s completed the Gauntlet Fitness Competition.

Sheโ€™s stepped in front of the camera for a photoshoot.

Warrior Chic has never been about being the fittest woman in the room.

And itโ€™s definitely not about trying to look like you did in your twenties.

Itโ€™s about becoming stronger than you ever thought possible, wherever you are in life.

Itโ€™s about walking into a room where women cheer each other on, celebrate every win, and remind you that your best years donโ€™t have to be behind you.

We donโ€™t train just to look better.

We train to stay independent.

To carry our own shopping.

To lift our grandchildren.

To hike mountains.

To travel the world.

To get up off the floor with confidence.

To keep saying yes to life.

Because strength is one of the greatest investments you can make in your future.

At 68, June is still setting new goals.

Still getting stronger.

Still proving that strength has no expiry date.

She continues to inspire every woman around her.

And I think I speak for all of us when I sayโ€ฆ

We all want to be Aunty June when we grow up.

I love a good old bench press ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

I was asked this question last week โ€œIs it safe to bench press if you have endometriosis?โ€

For many women, yes - absolutely!

Bench press doesnโ€™t put direct pressure through your pelvis like some people assume.

Instead, it primarily challenges your chest, shoulders and triceps while allowing you to build upper-body strength.

Building strength can help you:
โœจ Feel more capable and confident.
โœจ Improve posture and upper-body stability.
โœจ Make everyday tasks feel easier.
โœจ Continue training even on days when lower-body exercises arenโ€™t well tolerated.

The key is this: your diagnosis shouldnโ€™t dictate your exercise choices, your symptoms should.

If bench press feels good, thereโ€™s no reason to avoid it just because you have endometriosis.

However, if you have thoracic Endo you may want to check with a specialist / ensure you have a spotter.

Learn to adapt on the days your body needs it, but donโ€™t let fear stop you from discovering what youโ€™re capable of.

A wee tip for adapting if your pelvis or lower back are sore - lift your feet and pop them on the bench. If you have to do this because you are sore thatโ€™s ok but do Iโ€™d suggest going a bit lighter with your weight as you wonโ€™t have as much help coming from the glutes and legs so itโ€™ll feel heavier!

Your body is stronger than youโ€™ve been led to believe ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽ—๏ธ

Iโ€™m looking for a handful of women with endometriosis who are ready to stop feeling like theyโ€™re constantly fighting their own body.

Not women looking for a quick fix.

Women who are ready to understand their endo body, build strength, improve their energy, reduce flare ups and start believing that life with endometriosis can look different.

Maybe thatโ€™s the woman who has a successful career but is running on empty and verging on burnout!

Maybe sheโ€™s stopped exercising because sheโ€™s scared of making her symptoms worse and is unsure what exercises to do.

Maybe sheโ€™s cancelled plans, lost confidence, or feels like sheโ€™s become a shadow of who she used to be

If you watched this video and thought, โ€œThatโ€™s me,โ€ Iโ€™d love to hear from you.

Iโ€™m opening a small Founders Round of the Strong Endo Warrior Method, where youโ€™ll work closely with me alongside a small group of women who truly understand what youโ€™re going through.

If youโ€™re ready to take back control of your body with endometriosis and start building a life around what you can do, comment WARRIOR below and Iโ€™ll send you more info ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ
