Moving into those areas of the body that we often don't get into, through gental movement and flow. Using the breath to move us through and slow the our busy minds ๐

Pre class last night โบ๐ฅฐ
Feeling the best I have felt in agesssss! Following one health issue from another.
I managed to get to class without running from one place to the next (for a delightful change) and took full advantage of such a beautiful and inviting studio Sankalpa Yoga Glasgow . ๐๐๐
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Feeling absolutely blissful after a super grounding flow with some absolutely lovely people (yoga has the best ones ๐) so much so that I stayed for a super relaxing but invigorating yin practice with the wonderful Jacqueline Murray and then ran home with the energy both teaching and practicing gave me.

This for me goes a long way to show how listening to your body, your energy and honoring that can give you what you need. Whether that be to slow down rest and restore, to tuck yourself away and connect or for something more motivating and invigorating and sociable. The hard bit is taking the time to connect and acknowledge what we need and then honoring that instead of fighting against it.

Life is a series of these rollacoster ups and downs. The hard part is learning to ride the waves (I've definitely stolen that quote) and accepting where we are right now and honoring that!

๐ฟHello my loves,
๐This week we are getting twisty. We are twisting, cleansing, warming and detoxifying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
๐I am feeling a call to balance right now with the need to invigorate and motivate but also feeling that why is everything so difficult now energy!
So listening to that we are working with the fire element this week however with the focus being strongly on listening to the balance of what is enough for our energies right now and niot pushing beyond those boundaries.

๐It's about letting go of our egos, the shoulds and coulds and doing what we need to find balance. Doing what is going to feed and nourish us right now.

๐This is a BEGINNERS class meaning ALL are welcome. 7.30pm Wednesd evenings. This class focuses strongly on listening to your energy and doing what you need as opposed to what you think you should do โค

๐ฟ Just finished a very blissful and rather indulgent self practice. A practice we will be sharing together this week in class.

๐Working with the New Moon ๐this week which is all about setting our intentions and manifesting our journey forwards. Therefore this week we will be dancing with the space element ๐ซ incorporating all of our 7 chakras cleansing and clearing in preparation for our move forwards. Whether these are big or small movements is not important, only that we do so with an open heart to all possibilities and belief that the right things will come even if it is outwith our expectations. (This is known as non attachment in sankirt)

๐The space element ๐ซis all about exactly that, creating space everywhere in our bodies and our minds. Shifting anything no longer needed energising, awakening and clearing the path forwards.

๐ฟThis week we are working with the water flow. ๐
I have chosen the water flow this week as it is a great practice to work with around full moon time, having just had the Aquarius full moon.

๐ Full moon is a time for slowing down and allowing ourselves to connect, sense, feel anything that is going on within us, physically, mentally emotionally. It's a time for surrender and being with ourselves, gaining knowledge and acceptance for where we are and releasing anything that will not serve us in our onwards journey, with freedom and liberation.

This week we are moving on to the earth practice ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐

EARTH PRACTICE ๐ฑ
Earth practice is all about bringing ourselves back down to earth, into the presant moment and out of our heads. This is a great one for anyone that struggles with feelings of anxiety, being overwhelmed, stressed or in the midst of change whether it be positive or negative.

Physically in earth practice we will be working with opening the hips. This is said in many cases to be a place that some of us store our emotional baggage. Whenever we have a stress reaction our fight or flight instincts kick in and sometimes results in tension of this area. If we do not process these emotion this energy can becomes stagnant preventing us from moving forward. So in working with this area with our asana, breath and visulisations we can help to restore the flow of energy.
You will notice that the practice also draws down towards the ground adding to the element of groundedness.

ROOT CHAKRA (Muladhara)
Earth practice is assosiated with the root chakra. This chakra point is the link between the physical world and our energetic system and is the base for our the energetic flow/ life force. If you hear the word Prana this refers to the energetic life force that runs through or bodies and our breath. This is the chakra point of our stability, security and our basic needs. This includes or basic needs in a material and emotional sense, feeling safe, secure and having our needs met. This chakra is located at the very base of the spine and is visulised as the colour red.

๐ฟClass this week we are opening up our hearts spreading our wings and making space for all things compassionate and kind ๐๐

๐ฟWorking with the air practice physically we are back bending, opening up the chest and releasing tension from the neck and shoulders. This is a great flow for anyone that spends a lot of time at a desk, a computer or just generally hunched over. In life we tend to make ourselves small with a lot of Hunching, closing and create a lot of tension. This is an opportunity to counterbalance that! Open up, spread your wings and create space.
